  Took my laptop into this store - unused by me, so perfect working condition, for it to fail the testing - which is fair enough if it was true. I recieved a call to tell me that 28 minutes into their battery test, the laptop died completely - "flat battery, completely dead" was the words they used, so it failed, as a fully charged laptop die in 28 mins of watching a YouTube video is horrendous. Since I haven't used it myself, I didnt battle that. Later came home, and found out it wasn't flat - as it turned on when I opened it with battery remaining, now locked out with Cex log in. Took me a day to get the password to unlock it through a helpful customer service team, to then find something very interesting. Since its mac, there's actually battery chart. And it said, it was only used on the day Cex tested it- for roughly 24 minutes - it was factory reset, and they managed to set up a login, connect to WiFi, check the specs (they left their notes on my laptop so I know they did that first), then find a YouTube video, and play it - for supposedly 28 minutes at which point it was "flat battery", all in those 24 minutes the laptop claims to be on for. Now, since they haven't reset anything, the YouTube video was still on, so, I played it myself. To test this horrendous battery that can't handle a YouTube video. And to my surprise - the same video, full screen, 8% of battery used in 30 minutes of it playing. I played it for 3 hours straight, and it only used 40% of battery. So not only was I lied about the time they tested the laptop for, the fact it was "completely flat" when it still had battery, the fact that it didn't fully drain in 28 minutes, but it takes 6-7 HOURS of same activity to drain it, and the fact they locked me out of my laptop, plus a pure waste of time. What I don't understand, is why they lied. The laptop itself was immaculate, maybe they were simply too lazy to actually test it and thought screw it. Either way, completely unprofessional. So if you are thinking of handing in your item to Cex, maybe go to a different store and avoid this.

  I took a brand new item to sell They told me it was A rated and offered me a price which I accepted after it was checked When going back to collect my money they changed the rating to a B offering me less money I took it somewhere else and got more money than their A rated offer I feel they tried to con me Please be aware of this I won’t be back

  Wouldn’t buy from here sold me a tablet that can’t connect to the internet or download didn’t even explain that you couldn’t download nothing on it takes ages turn on the shop absolutely stinks DONT BUY FROM DARLINGTON STORE
