  If we could give zero stars we honestly would. We decided to come for a short Easter break to St Ives Cornwall by train. We decided to hire a car and having done some pre research we decided to go with this company for a car hire on the basis of their good google reviews but we must say how shocked we were. This turned out to have been the worst mistake we ever made. This company is the rudest, most unprofessional company we have ever dealt with. We booked a car to be picked up specifically at St Erths train station on our journey to St Ives Cornwall and for the duration of our break. But unfortunately at no fault of our own our 10.02am direct train was cancelled and we had to get an 11am indirect train instead which unavoidably delayed us by approx 1 and a half hours. We immediately called this company to explain this and in more than enough time but surprisingly they wasn't even trying to understand the situation or be accommodating. The man we spoke to was rude, unprofessional and extremely unhelpful. We was told we would have to ger the van the next day as they cant wait or rearrange a slighlty later time. What made it worse was they told us 2 days before we came to Cornwall to just call them an hour before we arrive so they can then meet us at St Erths nearer the time on the day. When we tried to explain to the man that we spoke with that nothing was was mentioned to us at the time of the booking that if we arrive slightly later than scheduled, for any reason whatsoever, that the car would no longer be available on the day then he rudely hung up the phone on us. We could not believe the rudeness of this man and company in general especially after the reviews we read on google and having apparently been in business for 31 years. If that's their idea of good customer service I'm surprised they have managed to stay in business for 31years. The whole experience was shocking ans has caused us alot of distress and inconvenience to try and make other last minute arrangements for hiring another car with another company. My advise to others would be to avoid this company at all costs and go elsewhere to where another company who would actually try and be more professional, sympathetic a.d accommodating when these type of unforeseen situation do sometimes happen. It not how a company deals with situations when they are going smoothly , it's how they deal with situations when they are not going so smoothly.

  Alan and Callum were so helpful and friendly. I had a great time driving around Cornwall in a lovely little Nissan of theirs. Very reasonably priced, lovely friendly company- will definitely be a return customer.

  I first booked a car in June 2021 which I had to cancle at very short notice, Alan was very understanding about this, so when I wanted to book a car in October 2021 I went back to Alan and the team . I can only say that I received an excellent service, the response from my initial enquiry was really quick, the booking form was easy to complete and the service when the car was delivered again excellent. The car was well maintained and clean. I am visiting Cornwall again in March and I have booked again with this company. I can highly recommended Alan and the team to anyone wanting to hire a car in the area. Many Thanks for the excellent service and I wish you continued success in this very difficult time.

  Excellent, friendly service, good condition Honda Jazz and very fair pricing. Alan delivered the car to our holiday rental in Coverack and collected it from our drop-off in Penryn. When our return flights were changed due to Covid lockdown, he accomodated a short extension followed later by a week's reduction and refunded the corresponding cost! We will certainly use abhire again on a future holiday in Cornwall.
