My granddaughter (age 6) had a fantastic time at ClayWays this week. She was keen to try her hand at throwing a pot on the wheel and Tracy talked her through it patiently, demonstrating and encouraging throughout. My granddaughter was delighted with the pots she managed to make and is looking forward to going back to glaze them. A great time had by all - thanks, Tracy.
I have been going here for about 6 months and I love it. I go most weeks and have improved so much having started with no experience. This is all thanks to Jess and Tracy who are so friendly and helpful, but also everyone that I’ve done a session with is so lovely and helps you feel included from the start. If you want to get into pottery and want to join a community of people who love doing it, but also want to have the freedom to create what you’d like, but also have all the help you need, I recommend everyone to have a try here. This is the perfect place to go, for everyone! It is such a relaxing and enjoyable hobby.

I absolutely love going to Clayways! Both Tracy and Jess are wonderful and make every session such an enjoyable experience! I recently did a 3 day throwing course with Tracy and it’s helped my proficiency in throwing so much. I am now so much more confident on the wheel! The studio is wonderful; so well equipped and with so many glaze options for your pieces! Highly recommend Clayways to anyone wanting to start pottery or advanced their skills!☕️🫖🩷
Clayways is a friendly, relaxed, brilliantly equipped pottery studio in a beautiful location. I was made to feel welcome immediately and given all kinds of brilliant advice and tuition to improve my throwing technique. Whether you want to paint, hand sculpt, throw, glaze, fire or simply practice; it's a fantastic place! Tracy and her team are able to meet you at your skill level whether you are a complete beginner such as myself or a confident ceramicist with ambition! I've already booked a series of studio sessions and it's already the highlight of my week.

Nightclasses in handbuilding first inspired my fascination with clay but I later wanted somewhere I could go to quietly develop my practice. Finding Clayways earlier this year has been so important to me. The studio environment there gives me everything I was looking for. Firstly, the team of Tracey and Jess are always positive, supportive and encouraging. I am very much at the early learning stage and no question is too stupid, no challenge insurmountable. I can tap into expert advice should I need it or just do my own thing. There is always a good group there to work alongside. It’s a small space but everything is on hand and its scale suits me well. I appreciate the uncomplicated fee structure that includes all clay, glazes and firing. They are superhuman with their firing schedule, and there is always a brew on offer! In fact I don’t know why I am going public with how good they are. 😂
