  A mixed experience. The gentleman with glasses on was courteous throughout! The same cannot be said about the mythical ‘tester’ however.. her tone from the word go was appalling, condescendingly explaining why my item was graded as a ‘C’. When we returned to the store 30 minutes later, she made multiple snappy comments towards myself and my partner. She *very poorly* explained why they would be unable to accept my item. When my partner asked if she knew why said issue was occurring, she replied ‘I don’t know. I don’t work for Apple do I’ my partner hadn’t even opened her mouth once before this, so the tone she replied in was surprising. I asked her to be more polite to my partner, which was met with ‘well you haven’t spoken to me very nicely have you’. I promise we were polite, and patient throughout, I then asked her to show me the issue, so I could go home and fix it. Once again this wasn’t acceptable for some reason, and I was met with ‘I’ve got other things to get on with mind’ Ultimately, a truly perplexing experience. Personally, if you’re job is to troubleshoot or detect issues with a TECH product, and you find and issue, then you should be more than capable of explaining the issue to a customer.

  I didn’t have a great time in store today, the staff were mostly helpful except the one half blonde half brunette “tester” who was exceptionally rude to me, incredibly condescending, and spoke at me like I was stupid. I asked her a question about an Apple product, and she said and I quote “I don’t know, I don’t work for Apple” (which is funny considering she works in a tech store selling Apple products!). She looked visibly annoyed at me and my partner as well, I do not know if she was overwhelmed or stressed but this does not mean she can forget she works in a customer-facing role and can’t hold a disgusting attitude behind the till. I’d like to ensure you though, the rest of the staff were really helpful and kind, particularly the lad.

  I returned a game I bought online that wasn't in great condition. I was greeted by a very happy and friendly member of staff (I have forgotten their name but they were from Slovakia and not America). She was super helpful and processed my refund quickly and without fuzz. She offered to help me track down a better copy of The Godfather dons edition on PS3. She offered to call me when she found a CIB version. She rang me the same day and said she had found one and to visit the store again. I went back the following day and was served by someone else who showed me the email trail with photos of the disc and box. The game arrived this morning looking perfect. Amazing service and I will visit this store again and again. Also thank you to the Newcastle store that had such a lovely version of the game.

  In the last week or so, I went into CEX several times as I was having technical issues with a phone bought from the shop and was assisted each time by Najat, who went above and beyond to help me with advice and several different solutions. I left the store very satisfied with the customer service she provided and happy that my issue was finally resolved!
