M&B have looked after our appliances for several years now. Every time, we get the same excellent service: prompt call-out, reasonable fee, excellent problem fixing, courteous and capable engineers. We would not use anyone else!
Very disappointing experience.
The engineers called at approximately 15:44 to confirm I was home, and payment was taken at around 15:51. The entire visit lasted only about seven minutes.
They arrived in a rush, gave no introduction, made little eye contact, and immediately removed the plinth beneath my kitchen cabinet and took items out of the cabinet to access the tumble dryer plug without first asking. After briefly checking the plug and appliance, I was told the plug was fine but that the circuit board had failed.
When I asked whether the machine could be repaired, I was told that it COULD BE repaired, but that the circuit board was expensive and therefore not worth replacing. The same explanation was repeated when I asked for further details. One of the engineers appeared to check a price on his phone, wrote down some figures totalling over £300 on a piece of paper, and concluded that replacement would be a better option than repair. The paper was then taken away when he left.
Before the appointment, I had already emailed a video showing the fault in detail, including the machine's behaviour and the results of pressing all the control buttons. Given how quickly the diagnosis was reached during the visit, I was left wondering whether the issue might have been identifiable from the video alone, potentially saving the need for such a brief call-out.
I appreciate that not every appliance can be repaired economically. However, the visit felt rushed from start to finish, and very little explanation was provided. Given how brief the inspection was, I was left with little confidence in the diagnosis or recommendation.
I paid the £54 call-out fee, but I was uncomfortable doing so given how little time was spent assessing the appliance and answering my questions. The engineer left with a message that he would send me a quotation on a new machine, but as expected, it never come.
Overall, the experience felt impersonal, rushed, and poor value for money. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this service.

Superb service to replace the counterweights holding my dishwasher door. I emailed on Saturday morning and had a response within the hour booking an appointment on the Tuesday. The team arrived within the designated time window, were friendly, quick and professional. Fixed in no time! Would highly recommend. I’ll be going back to them not only for repairs but also when it comes time to buy replacement appliances as they know what they’re talking about and will do all the fitting.

Our fridge-freezer was claiming to be cool to freezing according to the panel, but in fact was very warm inside and not freezing at all. We rang M&B and the lady was very helpful and booked Steve, who diagnosed the problem within 2 minutes. He was extremely knowledgeable and offered us excellent advice, which meant we needed to buy a new fridge-freezer (due to refrigerant leak). It had probably been thawing and trying to refreeze for weeks before. Efforts by us, incidentally, to diagnose and resolve the problem using AI failed abjectly. This is a job for an expert human.
