  Bathroom is a delight We live in a terrace house where we inherited a noisy and unpleasant macerator with erratic pipework under the flooring. The bathroom was at the front while sewers run at the back. The shower, bath and toilet needed replacement. Our surveyor recommended moving the bathroom to the rear of the house. After a year we agreed. We ordered a new bathroom through Wickes and they proposed Matthew Brown Plumbing and Heating as installer. Browns carried out the work in March 2026. The upside. We have an excellent new bathroom which makes life much more enjoyable. The quality of the work is excellent and the work was done on time. Browns arrived when they said they would and finished a couple of days earlier than scheduled. Matthew worked on this project himself and he and his team were professional, well organised, neat and a pleasure to have working in the house. Since completion, a plumber and an electrician working on another job have spontaneously commented on the quality of the work they have seen when they lifted floorboards. So would we use Browns again? Definitely yes. The downside? The split between Wickes and installer made project management difficult. There was a huge (50%) difference in cost between the original Wickes estimate and the final cost, mostly due to installation. When we saw the final Browns estimates for installation, we almost cancelled the job and had some frank exchanges with Matthew and his quantity surveyor, Eldrin. Wickes says Browns are expensive; Browns say Wickes failed to specify enough materials for the job (a big difference when installing copper piping). We do not have the technical knowledge to call this but there were some slip ups by Wickes. Our view is that the higher cost paid off in terms of workmanship. Browns convinced us to carry on, were adept at problem solving, and now have a bathroom that we use every day with joy. Browns were upfront and gave detailed costings which proved to be accurate. We paid more than we were hoping to pay, but we did know what we would be charged before work began. Would we go with Browns again? Yes we would.

  Matt and the team have done a superb job of refurbishing our bathroom. An amazing transformation. The team were friendly and professional throughout - highly recommended.

  Everyone at the team did a superb job on my bathroom renovation. Matt and the team were very attentive throughout the process, with constant progress updates and keeping on top of who was going to over and what days etc. The final product has completely transformed the bathroom. I would recommend them to family and friends and would happily have them back for any future projects.

  Matt and the team were super helpful and professional from beginning to the end of the project. Communication was amazing throughout- we knew who was coming on what day and what they were doing. Work completed to an excellent standard and clean up after the job was exceptional. Would not hesitate to use again.
