I would give less than one star if possible. Previously this business was great but I believe it has been taken over by new people the new owner Jon is rude and doesn’t want to accept any responsibility for when things go wrong. I took my Corsa to them to be checked as I believed there was a fault with the gearbox they told me it was the sensor after paying over £110 for diagnostics. A new sensor was fitted and the gearbox was no different, I asked for an explanation and Jon the new owner become very defensive and said he didn’t know what was wrong and maybe something wrong with the diagnostics and he wouldn’t be able to help. I asked if that was the case to have a refund for the diagnostics and he refused. I feel that this was unfair as I’ve paid for diagnostics and parts and am no further forward to fixing the fault and the garage don't seem to care at all. They just want to take your payment regardless of whether they can help or not. I would advise to avoid using them at all.

Took my Jag to The Bournemouth Gearbox Centre and Phil for a gearbox service. I was treated professionally and with absolute courtesy from the first phone call to the on site visit. I thought that the service was pretty much just an oil change. WOW how wrong was I and what a difference to the drive of my already beautiful car. So, much so, that I had to call him to say thank you. They're highly recommended to all. Well done and thank you

Five stars all round for these guys. My 335i was in a sorry state with a whining gearbox. Phil provided great customer service and went above an beyond to help meet my personal needs. Managed to fit me in right away and completed the service on the day. The gearbox has completely stopped making bad noises and feels much better. Best part was the price was half the price of a local well established bmw specialist.
After a very bad experience with a different garage, I've found Bournemouth Gearbox Centre Dorset Ltd on Google search. Deciding to take my car on the rump from the previous garage and take it to this garage was the best decision that I took. Phil, a very simple and modest person but with all the knowledge that a specialist could have, had a look at my car and told me what was wrong and the cost to fixing in very short time. A week later my car was back on the road again. I REALLY RECOMMEND Phil's garage. The cost of your Gearbox problem is definitely cheaper at his garage then others. You also can rely on his knowledge and his seriousness a quality that not many has left.
Thank you very much Phil for accepting to fix my car in a very short notice and for taking the time to answering to all my questions before you even knew that you will definitely going to fix my car.
Phil, the owner, is a rarity in the auto trade; someone who is actually honest and upfront and who does what he says he'll do.
The gearbox on my 2012 Audi A5 3.0 TDI Quattro failed and so I took the car to the Bournemouth Gearbox Centre for diagnosis and repair.
Phil provided a timely, detailed breakdown of the failure and potential costs to fix, so that I could make an informed decision.
Understanding that a replacement gearbox from Audi is £10K plus fitting I knew that this would not be a cheap fix by any means, so although Phil's quote was significantly less than 1/2 the cost of just the new gearbox, but included fitting, I ultimately decided not to proceed with the repair and instead sold the car for salvage.
Had my car been newer and the mileage less than the current 125,000 miles, I would have had no hesitation in going ahead with the repair, but on this occasion it was simply uneconomical to do so.
Should I need transmission issues diagnosed and repaired in the future I will use Phil.
