I recently completed my level 4 diploma in therapeutic counseling training and was thoroughly impressed. The course provided deep, practical knowledge that has greatly enhanced my understanding and skills. The tutor (Sian)was outstanding — clear, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. Their teaching made complex concepts easy to grasp and apply. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to grow in the field of counseling with confidence and competence.

I am so happy with my experience at Key counselling, studying the Level 2 foundation in Counselling and the Level 3 Certificate in Counselling (fast track) with Caroline. Caroline was jolly, sweet, informative, knowledgable and helpful. She has a calming and welcoming yet upbeat presence and if, like me, one has nerves when having to practice counselling skills at first, she will certainly make sure you feel comfortable and have a lot less reason to be nervous.
If I was not physically so far away, I would certainly have loved to do the Level 4 Counselling Diploma with Key Counselling. They are thorough and this gives me confidence in myself with the skills I am learning and practicing.
Zoom with Caroline every Monday worked very well. The class sizes were small and friendly, with a diverse selection of fellow students.
I will miss my Monday morning counselling sessions with Caroline at Key Counselling.

My experience with this company when trying to get on the level 3 course has been very bad.
Firstly the interactions with the staff on the telephone were someone bizarre, blunt and with a very rude individual. Not what I have experienced before in the professional, academic or therapeutic community ever.
However being keen to progress on my journey I continued to pursue my next steps.
I did have some more questions regarding questions regarding accreditation, scheduling and access, sent a couple of emails and got not reply, so called again for clarity.
I am disabled person with additional access needs. ( For brevity I need to for example take breaks away off camera from time to time and have mic off, I may also if very poorly need notes or a recording of a session ) so I wanted to clarify my position on this and ask how this is handled in the context of the course.
I will add I have numerous academic and therapeutic qualifications gained over the last 5 years, all a mix of online, hybrid and in person.
These academic institutions have all been able to accommodate my needs, ( which are not exhaustive ). I have never felt ashamed, “othered” or less of because of them, only listened to, accommodated and supported.
Extremely disappointed to be told that modifications cannot be made for my condition, but more so at the lack of compassion and understanding to someone who js considered as atypical.
Access is not a luxury it is a basic right.
So sad as was looking forward to getting started with them, I wouldn’t be expect this from any forward thinking organisation but certainly not one in the area of training you offer.
EDIT : note to Key counselling after response.
I absolutely don’t have you mixed up. Please don’t attempt to gaslight me. We have had an email exchange further to this very topic.
After reading the full breadth of the reviews on this topic I am very pleased to be going elsewhere.
I absolutely acknowledge material may not be recorded, but to be clear this is not always a necessity of live trainings - there are plenty of courses I have attended where parts of the material are edited or omitted.
In addition you quite simply do not seem to get the point that some individuals with additional needs have additional requirements, so a break with everyone else may not be suitable.
I have attended courses whilst lying down, listening to my colleagues, or in a very dark room, and at time been screen or mic off it has been perfectly acceptable- why because the teaching container is SAFE, and everyone knows there is a place to rest if needed, especially those with atypical needs.
Sorry but you really need to up your game for atypical clients, and be more compassionate toward them too.

Updated: The 'course director' and lead scam artist Sian Harris does not know how to deal with members of the public and is quite frankly one of the most incompetent individuals i've come across. This is the type of business that does not support its students and actually just cares about money. At the time of writing no certificates had been provided just empty promises that it had been 'posted'. We have reported them to SEG awards Skills & Education Group and await the outcome of this awful business practice.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM OF A BUSINESS. HAD several family members and friends do courses here enrolling at the same time and did not receive their certificate after paying thousands!!!!! Only to be spoken to rudely by the course director absolutely appalling service. STAY AWAY DO NOT USE OR YOUR WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY!!

Unfortunately, I had high expectations for the level 2 counselling course here at Key Counselling. However, after being taught by a previous level 4 student, it became quite clear that the standards of tutors were low and lacking in any form of professional teaching credentials.
After enduring many sexist and misogynistic comments, I was elated to be finished with the 10 week course.
The tutor was incredibly argumentative, unprofessional and to be quite blunt - rude.
The course supervisor provided unhelpful feedback and lacked the ability to support students - Not to mention her responses via email were painfully slow and rather vague.
The environment in which the in-person classes are taught, were unhygienic and poorly maintained. This included stained furniture, broken/flickering lights, fruit flies and foul odours permeating the room as it hadn’t been cleaned from previous weekend classes. Heating was also “too expensive” to turn on leaving students shivering.
The course structure was poorly set up, textbooks were badly written and some students were missing vital information from their textbooks. I was told the key counselling textbook was the only material I would require to complete the course, however this was found to be untrue. The “tutor” consistently contradicted the material given and quite frankly didn’t understand parts of the material when questioned. Roy was unfortunately not fit to teach this level 2 course.
It took an additional 4 months to receive my qualification and when I queried the delay with the Sian, the course supervisor, I was met with a incredibly nonchalant attitude.
Overall, it was an unpleasant experience and I wouldn’t recommend completing any levels with Key Counselling due to my previous experiences.
