I’m honestly still in shock and incredibly upset by how this situation was handled. We brought my cousin’s cat in after he had been attacked by another animal and was suffering from a very deep, serious wound. We were scared, desperate, and came here because it was the closest place and still open, arriving about an hour before closing. Instead of being met with urgency, care, or even basic compassion, the first things we were repeatedly asked were, “Do you have an appointment?” and being offered “cheaper options.” In a moment where an animal’s life and wellbeing were clearly at risk, the response felt cold and dismissive. It didn’t feel like anyone truly acknowledged how serious the situation was or how distraught we were. When you bring in an injured pet in an emergency, you expect at least some level of empathy and willingness to help or guide you appropriately. Instead, we left feeling frustrated, helpless, and honestly questioning whether our pet’s life mattered at all in that moment. I understand clinics have policies and limitations, but emergencies require humanity first. This experience was deeply disappointing and added unnecessary stress to an already traumatic situation.

I’ve been coming here since 2023 and really appreciate Dr. Cleland—he is caring and professional. However, during a recent dental visit, my interaction with an assistant (Fanta) was disappointing. When I asked for my pet’s X-rays, I was initially told they didn’t have them, which was confusing since they were used for surgery. I also felt her body language around my pet’s crate was not considerate. I’d prefer that she not assist with my pet anymore in the future. Communication&handling can be improved.

OMG! Switch to VCA College Park after our Veterinarian retired. When we arrived at our appointment we were greated and immediately checked in for our schedule appointment. The facility is new and very clean. Dr. Morning -Bush and team were extremely nice and very knowledgeable. They made us all feel very comfortable and cared for during our visit. Fast forward and we are back for an ear hematoma. This time we were able to see Dr. Cleland (Medical Director) because our dog was extremely uncomfortable, irritated, and had stomach upset we had to bring him in. Dr. Cleland and team were so well prepared, knowledgeable, and immediately gave us options. The treatment options were laid out and very clear. I absolutely love this VCA Office and the entire team. Highly recommend this Office for the care of you and your pet!

Called today and staff were rude and demeaning. There is relaly no reason to talk down to people. With many other offices in the area that are non-corporate, we will be taking our pets elsewhere.
