    First negative review I’ve ever written. We waited patiently for 10 min to have someone open a case to get what we came for even though we could see several employees that were available. When an employee finally approached us to open the case, he literally bent down to open the case and stopped right before putting the key in because another employee radioed him telling him to help someone else first… Instead of taking two seconds to open the case that he was physically in front of, he walked away and never said a word to us. Not sure what else to say other than it was bizarre. Didn’t really have a choice but to leave after that. We’ll buy what we need somewhere else.

    We waited nearly 30 minutes for the Therabody section to be unlocked by an employee named Karma, otherwise we would be in and out in five minutes. After finishing with another customer, she disappeared to the back and we had to ask three different employees to find her. The delay felt intentional. When we finally got the product, we could hear her saying “it’s only been five minutes and we need to have patience” I later saw similar reviews describing the same issue, which suggests a pattern. Very disappointing service.

    This review is specifically for the Caroline Street Location: Back in July 4 2025 for my son’s birthday I purchased a gaming PC. That day I received excellent customer service and was purchasing add ins and accessories and got treated like a celebrity. Fast forward to December 20 2025. My husband and I went in to purchase a cable to perform a specific function in this PC. A rep that was in the section that’s wasn’t even his section was helping us and told us that we probably didn’t need it and to make sure before we bought it. He was helping us. Great service and suggestions. He suggested we ask them to pull up our receipt so they could tell us if we actually needed that past for the PC because some pcs don’t need that part. Anyway. We went to the register, nobody acknowledged us. Not even hi! someone’s is buying a keyboard and someone is buying an iPhone. But to not even say hi I’ll be with you in a moment. Is terrible. When they for finally comes to the register a girl (short black girl with twists) she doesn’t say I’ll be with you in a moment . It was I’m sorry I’m about to use this register. We are not stopping you from using the register we want acknowledgement and help. And we are well are a sale is about to take place. Anyway after the sale, and being being passed up by 2 make reps, . She finally asked how can I help you. Ok we need a receipt from July. I have the exact amount and date and she was like ok. She could t find it because she said afterwards well we don’t keep things in file for 3 months. But the proceeds to tell me went back to the year 2022. Why if you can only search out 3 months so that was a lie. She wasn’t very helpful from the beginning and I told her I had the whole printout at home but we was trying to make a purchase since we were here already. Her service is terrible and then retailers wonder why Amazon is winning. We decided to try up front at customer service. (A white lady). Was more helpful and outgoing that’s the black girl was. Somehow they linked up and the black girl was still on her high horse like I told you I could find the receipt more that 3 months back we even tried back to 2022. Just ratched and unprofessional. And we thanked the other girl for her help and left stating we will never come to Best Buy for another purchase of anything in the future. Now I’m not mad that they couldn’t find the receipt. It’s the questioning me like I don’t make an 2000*dollar purchase here. And the little to no help. At all. The lack of service. Well we left went home and ordered the part… from somewhere else because I refuse to give Best Buy my money.

    terrible experience here! will definitely never go back. I purchased a laptop here, and they told me I'd still be able to mail in my old one after transferring everything myself (at home), only to show up and have them tell me that that was not an option, I would have to surrender my current laptop before getting a new one. They suggested I buy a cheap hard drive (quoted at $30 but marketed there for $150-200) to transfer my data only (which obviously if you have a mac, doesn't capture all the settings, etc). OR I could make an appt several days later to have them transfer my data (which itself was quoted to take 2-4 business days). then the manager said I could not cancel my trade in quote and simply take the new computer (which was completely paid for). their suggestion was that I could spend the entire day in their store with the wifi they even said was bad to transfer things between my laptops... who has time for that? in the end I spoke with a helpful representative who allowed me to cancel my trade in and just take my new laptop (I will do my trade in directly with Apple). Even though the manager tried to derail my conversation with the only person who had been helpful and told him that the rep who was helping me maybe 'wasn't following the rules'. He literally saw us having a conversation and came up to try to stop it. Honestly, terrible experience, mostly with the manager going out of his way to be above and beyond unhelpful and provide zero solution, actually trying to prevent us from finding one. Not sure who goes out of their way to be so purposefully unpleasant and provide horrible service.

    ***Follow up. I returned the next day because I refuse to drive to another Best Buy and be inconvenienced. The female cashier informed me Best Buy does not take PCs as a trade in.🤦🏾‍♀️I will have to go to another Best Buy to address the PC trade in issue, which is crazy. They don't seem to have it together regarding trade ins. Young man in the computer area was very helpful and attentive! He actually walked over to the area, picked up the item I needed and made sure it was correct. Excellent customer service! I'm upset I did not get his name. He was light skinned African American, hair neatly twisted, looked to be in his 20s and tall. Changed my stars to 3. This was the Best Buy closest to my home where I normally shop. Monday, 12/8 around 630-7 pm, the customer service was not good. I purchased an HP computer from a different Best buy on Saturday and was told I could return my old HP in the geek squad area for credit at any Best buy location. After being in the geek squad area for more than 15-20 minutes it was verified the computer worked, I was then moved to another area where I was told I needed to speak with the only manager on duty. I sat in that area for a while while the manager on duty walked pass me several times. When I asked the female associate if the manager knew I was there, she said I will remind him. I know he was the only manager on duty but good customer service would have been to let me know he would be with me as soon as possible. Well I also needed cables for my new HP so I went to the computer area where I spoke with a tall heavy set male with black nose rings. He was not helpful. Instead of assisting me and getting the cables that I needed he pointed in a direction. Well when I explained I was not having a good day he did not try to de-escalate the situation. I guess he alerted the manager that I was not happy. The manager, named G, still attempted to avoid me until I was walking out the door and then he asked can I help you. By then I was over it so I told him he could no longer assist me. I get being short-staffed but verbally letting someone know that you're there instead of walking around them would have been the right thing to do. I normally shop online because I don't have a lot of time to wait in stores so this was a very disappointing visit.
