Best vet in Miami! I’ve been taking my dogs here for over 20 years. Dr. Mark and Valentina are fantastic veterinarians, you can’t go wrong with either! They’re both attentive, caring, and knowledgeable, all while leading with heart. Very few in the business are like them. If you’re searching for a vet, look no further.
Going thru a difficult time, Mirti, the Doctor and his assistant treated us & our yard cat who has been coming to visit us daily " Pretty Boy "with great compassion. We made an excruciating decision to euthanize him but now he is pain free and in Heaven, they were all angels helping us through the process. A million thank you's!!!!
DO NOT TRUST THIS VET WITH YOUR PET OR YOUR SAFETY
If I could put zero stars, I would .I have been bringing my dog Cori to this clinic for both vet services and boarding for years, but after my recent experience I will never return.
I called the clinic at 5 PM because I was having a medical emergency and needed to go to the hospital. I asked if they had space to board my dog overnight, and the front desk staff member told me yes, they had availability. I explained that I was having an emergency and I needed to go to the hospital.
When I got there, the doors were locked, and I had to knock repeatedly until an employee saw me and let me in. I handed over Cori’s leash and let them know I could sign paperwork when I returned from the hospital.
Instead of helping me, the manager/owner (dark hair) came out from the back and immediately began yelling at me, accusing me of “never calling,” telling me I “did not have permission” to drop off my dog, and speaking to me in a belittling and aggressive tone — all while I was visibly unwell and clearly explaining that I needed to get to the hospital. She didn’t even ask the front desk employee whether she was the one I had spoken to.
Because of my chronic illness, every second truly counts. Yet I spent 10–15 minutes dealing with this woman screaming at me, walking to the back, returning to scream again, going back again, and repeating this cycle while I was in urgent need of medical care. Not only was her behavior completely unprofessional, it was dangerous given the severity of my condition.
Her yelling frightened both me and Cori. Even the staff member who initially let me in apologized to me and admitted the manager’s behavior was not acceptable.
Despite all of this, I had no choice but to leave my dog for the night because I had to get to the hospital immediately.
When I came back the next morning — only a few hours later — I was told the boarding charge was two nights, even though it had not even been 24 hours. I requested a refund and asked to speak to the manager again, because after everything, I deserved at least a verbal apology. She refused to come out.
I was handed paperwork saying I owed almost $100+, including charges I was never informed about, never approved, and never told would be performed on my dog. No explanation, no communication, and no authorization from me at any point.
I did not receive a refund at the clinic, so I had to go through my bank. Even then, I only received a partial refund, and I still do not know what the extra charges were for, since Cori was only there for a few hours and nothing was discussed or approved.
I requested all of Cori’s records and will be taking him to a different, reputable veterinarian from now on.
To sum everything up:
Manager yelled, belittled, and acted aggressively while I was having a medical emergency
Staff admitted her behavior was unacceptable
Wasted 10–15 minutes of critical time despite my severe chronic illness
Incorrect and unauthorized charges
Tried to bill me for multiple nights despite only a few hours
The manager refused to apologize or speak to me when I returned to get my dog
I am still missing part of my refund
I strongly recommend going to a different vet if you care about your pet’s safety, your own safety, and receiving basic respect.
I just want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Valentin, Dr. Mark and the entire team. In a world where our pets are family, finding people who care as much as we do is a rare gift - and that's exactly what you all are. Every technician, front desk & assistant I’ve interacted with has made us feel welcomed, supported, and genuinely cared for. They have always treated all my pets as if they were their own.
Sadly, I recently had to say goodbye to my furry soulmate, Maddox of 14yrs. Losing him has left a hole in my heart, but I take comfort in knowing his final moments were filled with dignity, love, and compassion thanks to Dr. Mark who was in that day & this remarkable team. I really appreciate all the time before & after you gave us with him. You treated us not just as clients, but as people going through something deeply personal. Your kindness made all the difference, and I will remember it always.
To Mirti, The Manager: Thank you for coming to say goodbye to Maddox. Your small acts of kindness, soft words, gentle touches, and heartfelt condolences meant more than you’ll ever know.
And the best for last… Dr. Valentin:
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Valentin for her extraordinary compassion, patience, and care shown to Maddox and to me before & later throughout his illness. From the very first signs of Maddox's illness, Dr. Valentin treated him with tender respect and unwavering commitment. One of the things I value most is how she takes the time to explain everything in a way that's easy to understand. Her analogies are always spot on! :) Every question was answered with patience, every concern met with understanding, and every visit handled with the perfect balance of professionalism and heartfelt empathy. Maddox was cared for by someone who truly understood his gentle spirit. Thank you Dr. Valentin, for walking with me through Maddox's journey. Thank you for your kindness, your gentleness, and the love you showed him. He lasted a whole year after his diagnosis & you made that all possible.
I still have 6 other fur kids & counting… maybe (shhh, don’t tell my husband) that are so lucky to have found you & the VCA Cabrera team. ❤️
PS: Thank you ALL who treated Maddox or just knew him, for taking the time to write me a sympathy card. It was definitely a tear jerker but warmed my heart.
