Best Buy quality check on open box items is ZERO. I have had two experiences now where an Open box excellent condition TV, had pixelation and picture skipping issues. The much touted Geek Squad is overrated, it's a bunch of tired geeks who don't like talking to people. This store particularly has terrible customer service.

I went in to get a new unlocked Android phone for my wife. The music was a bit loud for my old ears. The place was pretty busy, so it took a while to get a sales person. Once I got one (however) he was quite efficient and knowledgeable, and got me a Galaxy A-16 in short order, and had me on my way.

I would give zero stars if it were an option. Was looking to purchase new security cameras for my home and a replacement s-pen for my mobile device. I was waiting for an associate that was helping another gentleman with cameras. He asked if he could just ring the gentleman up and then he would help me (which I agreed to). When he finished ringing the customer up, the security guard that works the podium at the front had him ring up another customer after that. I looked over at the security guard and he asked "Do you need help with something?" To which I replied yes, I am waiting on him to help me with the cameras. He replied back " he'll be with you in just a moment." So the associate finishes at the register and the security guard proceeds to have him ring up another person while the associate that I'm waiting on points out that I've been waiting for his assistance. So I tell the security guard thanks and walk out the door. I've been a customer of Best buy for more than 10 years and spent thousands of dollars with them (well north of $30,000 over the years) and this was my worst experience ever. I will add that there was a younger woman (African American) who was very pleasant and even took the time to look up the S-pen I needed. I'd probably recommend promoting her and demote the security guard and have him attend some classes in "customer service '

If you call the number on Google for any Best Buy location you get someone in Pakistan. She incorrectly told me cloning my hard drive would cost $500. I went in person. Staff at Geeksquad were kind and helpful, which is the only reason this isn’t a 1 star. I explained it was time sensitive, and gave them my laptop fairly early in the day. I called a direct number to their desk today and didn’t get an answer. Went in person and was told they didn’t have a tech until 5. I won’t have the computer back until at least tomorrow, which hurts my productivity. I should have just bought the equipment to clone the hard drive myself. Going to pick it up first thing in the morning whether it’s done or not. Huge headache and a waste of time and money. Inadequate staffing (the jobs not outsourced overseas) The signs of a falling big box store are obvious and may be for a good reason

if you're buying all your electronics online, and not taking advantage of the Best Buy system, you're missing out. The Best buy total membership is $180 per year, only $15 a month, and gives you 2-year protection on anything you buy. in addition, you get special incentives and discounts on everything you purchase. you also get 60 days to return anything you purchased. I've had the membership six months, and it's already paid for itself in discounts I've received, and warranties I haven't had to purchase on larger items. add that to the Best buy credit card that gives you 12 months interest free on anything over $300, and 24 months interest free on any purchase over $500, and you've got yourself a great way to buy technology and large durable items, and be able to go in and look at them, and have somebody to talk to if anything arises. in addition, the staff at Best buy Wellington in particular been really good to me. never an issue if I want to return something. they also give you tips on how to purchase things through your Best buy card so that they total enough to get you the interest-free payments.
