I came in for an online order pickup, and while the employees helping me were incredibly kind and doing everything they could (especially with the system crashing), the manager on duty — Joanna — made the experience uncomfortable. She was literally sitting on the order pickup counter instead of helping, and was barking orders at the workers who were actively trying their best to assist me.
The staff were patient, polite, and clearly overwhelmed, but the way their manager spoke to them was rude and unnecessary. It created a really negative atmosphere for everyone around.
I hope leadership addresses this, because the employees deserve better support from their manager, and customers shouldn’t have to witness that kind of behavior.

Booked an appointment with Geek Squad to clean my pc and apply thermal paste which is service that I was told Geek Squad offers, only to be told they do not offer that service once I was already there. I understand you dont offer the service but instead of calling me to inform me this these guys read my appointment description and decided to let me drive all the way over to UTC and lug my giant pc onto their empty service counter for them to tell me you dont offer that service. Completely lazy and terrible customer service. Its not unreasonable to expect a simple courtesy call or email.
On top of that they seemed completely unaware that someone had made an appointment.

I miss the way the way this place used to be. When he products were a little less generic and the staff was a little geekier, some of them are still helpful but many are little better than cashiers. The audio dept. is almost nonexistent and they do a lot of telling you to check on their website. I would go to Amazon before I did that because they Best Buy’s prices. I go into a store to actually SEE the item. I did get what U want but it took quite awhile since there was no one to help. Waiting to get the laptop was from the back was another wait. In the end. I got what I wanted at a good price so that’s a win.

I used to love shopping at BestBuy, but now I hate it. At some point, they switched over to a sales queue approach which forces the customer to wait around for their app to tell the sales associate that you’re waiting. Multiple sales reps walked by with nothing to do, others sales associated chatting with each other and yet the customer continues to wait. Not one of them would make eye contact with me. Its 1130am and the store has very few customers.
Whoever came up with this operational “efficiency” move should be fired immediately. I asked to speak to the store manager, and that kicked off yet another app request on the sales associates tablet. After waiting around even longer, I finally gave up and walked out of the building. Never again.
I’m sure that this operations strategy results in lower overhead for the organization, but it immediately translates to a horrible customer experience. Game over. I’d rather buy the apple device from Amazon.
