I’m at Best Buy total member, I spent thousands of dollars last year on appliances and accessories through Best Buy. One of which was a Meta quest three for my grandson. I walked into the store tonight after an appointment for my 7:40 PM appointment. The guy looked at the Meta quest three and one of the broke controllers and said there’s nothing I can do for you. Period. No explanation no questions. Nothing he referred me to someplace called you break we fix. That’s the service I have as a total member purchasing all my appliances at Best Buy and with a protection plan for the Meta Quest I wish I could give negative stars

I hate to give a poor review, but our experience was awful. I purchased an open box dryer. I desperately needed it since my dryer blew and we have a family of five. I was convinced to have them delivery it. It would take over a week which was disappointing but I figured it was due to the holiday. The morning of delivery, I received a text cancelling the delivery. There was nothing done to rectify this despite them saying they would try. Instead, they said they would be out in another week with the product. I cancelled it and they were fine with that. I went with another store and got everything delivered the next day without issues and with lower fees.

I had an appointment for phone repair at 6:40pm that I booked and was confirmed for. When I showed up at 6:30pm I had to wait about 10 minutes before they came to ask why I was there. Then they told me they couldn’t do anything because there were closing soon and it would take them 3 hours to change the screen on my phone. And that they recommended I make an appointment for the next day. They didn’t apologize for the inconvenience or anything. Just basically said it was my fault and it was too late, even though I showed up early for my appointment. They shouldn’t give customers the option to make appointments after a certain time if they won’t honor them. Waste of time, I just went to Apple the next day and they completed it within 30 minutes.

Terrible experience. Drove 45 minutes for apple care appointment and they told me they weren’t taking any more appointments today and they would need to keep my phone for 5-7 business days to fix a shattered screen. Don’t use for Apple fixes

I once left this store a 5-star review because the sales staff were helpful — but after this experience, I feel completely misled by Best Buy’s protection plan system. My device used to be covered under My Best Buy Total, but after two years the coverage silently drops off while the membership keeps renewing at full price. No warning, no notice, nothing visible unless you dig through pages of buried fine print.
I flew a $1,400 drone for years believing it was protected because the membership was still active — only to learn after an accident that the protection had quietly expired long ago. This is incredibly deceptive. Best Buy shouldn’t market a plan as “Total Protection” if major items simply lose coverage without any clear disclosure.
If you buy anything expensive here, be extremely cautious. The protection plans are confusing, misleading, and feel predatory. I regret trusting this system, and it’s disappointing to see a company rely on obscured terms instead of transparency.**
