I can’t say enough wonderful things about VCA Ormond Beach Animal Hospital. Every visit, my pets are treated with genuine care and compassion, and the entire team is both professional and caring. Dr. Nelson, Allison, Liz, and Jelissa stand out every time because they go above and beyond to make sure my pets are comfortable and that I know what’s going on. It’s clear they truly love what they do. I’m so grateful to have a veterinary team I can trust completely.

Zero stars!! I took my kitten Marney to the VCA Newman Ormond Beach location (Appointment: 11-25-25 at 2:30 p.m.) and was seen by Dr. Abbey Harris. Marney had stopped eating and drinking normally. Her eyes were runny and she had lethargy. At her appointment they did a blood test which revealed that Marney had low kidney function, anemia, she was not developing/growing properly and she had Feline Leukemia Virus (Marney was originally given to me as a stray from a neighbor so I assume that is how she contracted FeLV). The veterinarian gave Marney IV fluids. Prescribed her an antibiotic (Clavamox) for an upper respiratory infection and prescribed her Mirtazapine to help with her appetite. They also gave Marney a B12 shot. Then, the veterinarian proceeded to give me a speech on how cats with Feline Leukemia Virus can live up to 10 years. Well, I did my own research and adult cats that contract FeLV can live up to 10 years but kittens that are born with it rarely live past 1 year due to their immune system unable to develop normally. At the end of my appointment they had me purchase a flea treatment, make a follow up appointment for 11-28-25 and recommended that I bring Marney back in one month for a repeat blood test. Marney died within a week (Thanksgiving Day 11-27-25). The blood results should have been an indicator that Marney would not be able to survive. As upsetting as it sounds, the vet should have known to recommend euthanasia. Instead Marney had to suffer due to VCA’s negligence. VCA does not have animal welfare in their best interest. The only thing they are interested in is your wallet. When I called to let them know that Marney had passed away they were so unsympathetic. I will never recommend this vet office to anyone.

Went in to get flea meds. They locked my account over some billing would not let me pay. Refused to sell me anything because account is locked. Told them my dog was suffering and I couldn't get it anywhere else. They do not care about dogs only money even when money is not the issue I would have paid whatever they wanted. It's Friday they said come back Monday. Boo thumbs down.
