- VMViviana MazzeiOct 1, 20251.0I haven't shopped at Best Buy or used geek squad in a while and now I remember why. I purchased an Alienware monitor for graphics work and was skeptical bc there were reviews of dead pixels and screens going black. Well, my screen went black. My laptop was recognizing an external display but monitor screen totally black. I bought the 4 year protection plan so I brought the monitor in to geek squad and they refused to send it in under my warranty bc there was a tiny crack on the very edge of the monitor. I had never even noticed it, and probably happened while I was transporting the monitor to geek squad bc I've never moved that monitor off my desk. If that's what caused a $700 monitor to break then fine I'll take it up with Alienware. But the geeks refused to even send it in and just argued with me for an hour about how any physical damage basically negates the protection plan. Every time I've used Greek squad it's been a terrible experience. I don't think they once actually fixed anything for me.
