After waiting in line for technical support, I was told that the issue could not be fixed and that the AirPods would need to be replaced. I was advised to go directly to the Apple Store, as I was told the replacement process would be faster there because they have this model in stock. Following this recommendation, I went to the Apple Store, checked in for service, and waited nearly two hours to speak with a technician. After all that time, I was informed that my AirPods could not be replaced on the spot and would instead need to be sent out for service for further confirmation, a process that may take 10–14 days. My AirPods are not charging or working without being connected to a cable. There is no physical damage, no water damage, and the issue is clearly not caused by misuse. I have AppleCare, and my understanding of AppleCare has always been that when a device fails due to a defect and not the customer’s fault, it can be replaced — similar to how Apple often handles iPhones. The online communication and scheduling process was complicated and time-consuming, adding to the frustration. As a result, I lost half of my day and had to miss work, based on the expectation that this visit would lead to a faster resolution. I value Apple products and service, but this experience was disappointing and not respectful of my time. I hope Apple can improve transparency around AppleCare expectations and better coordinate service guidance between Apple and authorized retailers.
