I went to Best Buy to purchase two 65” Insignia QLED TVs that were on sale. Initially, the salesperson presented them as a solid value for the price, which aligned with my prior experience with the brand. He also mentioned that since Insignia is Best Buy’s in-house brand, if anything happened to the TVs, they could be repaired through the store at no cost.
However, the interaction quickly shifted in a way that felt inconsistent and, frankly, manipulative. When discussing wall mounts, I was first shown options that were disproportionately expensive—one nearly matching the cost of the TV itself—without any apparent consideration for the type of purchase I was making. Only after pushing back did more reasonably priced options appear.
The most concerning part came at checkout. The same salesperson who had just recommended the TVs began describing them as low quality, unreliable, and prone to failure, clearly attempting to justify the purchase of an extended warranty. He also claimed that the built-in audio was very poor and used that to push additional audio equipment.
This directly contradicted what he had told me earlier about the TVs being a good purchase and even repairable through Best Buy if anything went wrong. Within the same interaction, the narrative changed depending on what he was trying to sell.
At that point, based on his own statements, it would have been reasonable to question the purchase altogether or even return the TVs. It is difficult to understand how a store can confidently sell its own in-house brand while simultaneously undermining it in order to push add-ons—especially when those add-ons are not even from the same brand.
I understand that sales associates are expected to offer warranties, accessories, and upgrades. That is part of retail. However, presenting conflicting information about the same product depending on the sales angle crosses into misleading territory and reflects poorly on the overall customer experience.
Customers should be able to rely on consistent, transparent guidance—especially in a store that positions itself as a place for informed tech decisions. This experience did not meet that standard.
I would strongly recommend doing your own research ahead of time and approaching in-store recommendations with a degree of caution.

I would like to file a complaint. I went to the store on 107th Avenue in Doral, FL, to purchase a content creator kit. The store does not have the kit in stock; however, when you attempt to purchase it online, the microphone is not included—even though the advertisement says that it is. I spoke with the manager, who apologized but refused to honor the advertised offer. It is a false offer.

Their kitchen section is a lot larger than the other Best Buy’s I have been to. Lots of great selections.

I had a great experience at Best Buy. I was having an issue with a previously purchased item, but Jorge in customer service helped me get everything sorted out quickly and professionally. Jonathan in the Apple department was also very helpful and knowledgeable.
Overall, the staff made the process easy and stress-free. I’d definitely recommend this location.
