I’ve been taking my 6-year-old pitbull, Dojo, to Dr. Betts for almost two years now, and I truly cannot recommend her enough. When I moved from Virginia, I was devastated to leave the vet Dojo had seen his entire life… but finding Dr. Betts has been the biggest relief. We absolutely love her. She has removed mast cell tumors from Dojo, managed his severe allergies, helped us trial anxiety medications, and is now preparing to remove another mass and complete his dental cleaning. Through every single visit, she has gone above and beyond. What stands out most is how thorough and intentional she is. Her exams never feel rushed; she really takes the time to talk through everything with me, answer every question, and make sure I understand all options. Yes, sometimes I wait a bit for our appointment—honestly, I don’t mind at all. I assume she’s giving another pet parent the same thorough care she gives me, and I appreciate that just as much when it’s my turn! She also knows Dojo and what helps him feel safe. She never restrains him unnecessarily, and she works with him instead of against him. That alone has made vet visits so much less stressful for him. For anyone with an anxious pup, I highly recommend asking your vet about a prescription like trazodone for before appointments. It helps the dog stay calmer, allows the vet to do a complete exam, and keeps everyone safer. I feel incredibly grateful to have found a veterinarian who treats Dojo with such compassion, patience, and expertise. Dr. Betts is truly the best. 🐾❤️ special shoutout to the techs and front desk ladies as well, they are so kind!

This is the best vet in SWFL! They are compassionate, with a patient-oriented approach. Doctors and tech are proficient, kind and good communicators. No-nonsense and no aggressive upsells on treatments you don’t need.

They do not treat animals for hypothyroidism. Would not recommend taking your animal here. My dog’s thyroid test comes back undetected, and they might as well have just shrugged and said no big deal. I took my dog to another vet and since we were able to finally diagnosis him, we have been treating him with meds. He is now his happy old self again. The front desk can’t even follow simple instructions such as forwarding records to another vet.

We went in for a walk-in appointment in the afternoon and things were slow so they got our dog in very quickly. The vet met with us quickly and spent a lot of time checking our dog out, then gave him medication immediately as well as some prescriptions. These people work under a lot of pressure so I was grateful that they took the time to explain everything and listen to my concerns.

Dr. Betts is an amazing veterinarian and a wonderful person! We are going to switch all our pets to her now, very impressed with both her and the staff. Her suggestions for care truly show her compassion and knowledge.
