I am posting this review because of a deeply troubling experience at the Verizon store on Concord Pike in Wilmington, DE, involving store management. I ordered phones online for convenience. We only went into the store because Verizon shipped the wrong devices we received Pro models instead of Pro Max models, despite ordering Pro Max devices. My family spent well over $2,000, and this visit should have been a straightforward correction of Verizon’s own fulfillment error. Instead, the situation escalated due to the conduct of the store manager. After confirming that the correct devices were available, the manager discouraged us from completing the exchange in-store. During this interaction, management made it clear that online orders do not benefit the store, and that fulfilling or exchanging online orders would negatively impact in‑store inventory that could otherwise be sold directly. As a result, the manager was unwilling to correct the issue on-site. This explanation directly aligned with the resistance we experienced and raised serious concerns that online customers are intentionally deprioritized in favor of commission‑based in‑store transactions. Additionally, I was explicitly informed by Verizon phone support that as a new customer, with unopened devices, I would not be charged a $50 restocking fee. Despite this assurance, the store charged the fee anyway, and management refused to correct it. The manager’s handling of this situation was dismissive, unprofessional, and inconsistent with Verizon’s customer service standards. This was not a misunderstanding it was a refusal to assist based on internal incentives rather than customer resolution. Given the amount of money spent, the incorrect shipment, the statements made by management, and the refusal to resolve the issue properly, this matter warrants corporate, compliance, and district‑level review. I am escalating this issue beyond the store level to ensure it is investigated appropriately. I strongly advise customers especially those ordering online to use caution when dealing with this location.

The salesman Alex was great, he listened to what our needs were, recommended a few phones, and helped set up a new Verizon account for a lower rate.

Awful. You’re better off calling the call center and dealing with hours of hold time
