VCA Pike Creek Animal Hospital was my vet of choice when I lived in the area. I was with them for about seven years, and they consistently did a great job caring for our pets. Professional, compassionate, and reliable—I’d absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for quality care for their furry family members.

All the staff is incredibly patient & nice, and they take fantastic care of our behaviorally challenging rescue dog. Since day one they have gone above and beyond and have given him so much confidence along with great care! Diego says Thank You! 🥹 🐾

Have had mostly good experiences here, but have had a few problems. Staff is very nice, and Dr. Scalia is very good, as have been most of the other vets I have seen over the years. Been taking my cats there for about 25 years. One issue a couple years ago was one cat was biting fur, and one vet there (not the usual one) only wanted to put her on prozac. That vet said it couldn't be anything else, and there was something new that was making her nervous. I said nothing was new, and she wasn't nervous. Fortunately, another vet there suspected it could be allergies, and we pursued that. Apoquel cleared allergies up after confirming them by allergy testing at Penn Vet Hospital in Philly. Issue today was that I needed just a few apoquel pills to hold me over until the mail order ones came (they only carry chewables now, which tend to crumble when I cut them up into 4 pieces). They charged me > $31 as a dispensing fee, and the actual pills were only a few dollars each. That dispensing fee was a big shock to me today. They said every Rx has a dispensing fee, and it varies by Rx, which makes no sense to me. They said they have to pay for the technician, etc., which I think should be included in the price of the pills themselves. There undoubtedly is a markup per pill along with the dispensing fee. This fee practice almost certainly is because of VCA corporate, and they said it couldn't be waived. When I started taking my cats there decades ago they were an independent vet hospital. Being bought up by VCA has brought both good and bad. So, today I paid about $38 for 3 pills, and $31 of that amount was for the dispensing fee. It probably took the technician about 2 minutes to put 3 pills in a vial and print the label. The price for 30 is around $85.

I have been bringing my dogs here for years. They are kind, caring, and always take good care of my dog. I use them for vet care, grooming and boarding. The staff is awesome. I really love Dr. Scalia. My dog loves going to boarding. And he always looks and smells amazing after he is groomed there.
