My little Stella has pancreatitis and gastritis. Dr. Gordon and Dr. Schmidt have been so wonderful the last few days in helping Stella stay hydrated and comfortable with all the right tools she needs to get through this tough time. Thank you ladies.

Informative, efficient and friendly!! I've visited several pet hospitals in my time, and I am so grateful to having met this team. Every experience I have had has been navigated professionally and thoroughly thru the lens of whats best for my pets. Mimo and Pooker have a lot to say when they get to go visit their friends at VCA Davis, and the staff is always happy to see them, and handles them with care. I would list names but every team member and doctor has made an impactful impression on me 👏

WENT IN FOR VACCINE AND WAS INJECTED WITH WRONG DRUG. My dog was here for a simple vaccine visit. I was not even offered the chance to go into exam room with her. Next thing I know a vet comes out to tell me she was accidentally given the wrong medication - Librella - a drug for arthritis - which she does not have. I was not told how such a serious mistake could have happened or what steps would be taken to prevent something like this in the future. Instead, I was offered an apology and a Librella pamphlet with dozens of possible side effects to look out for. Hardly reassuring given an error of this magnitude. I trust a veterinarian with my dogs well being, and mistakes like this are unacceptable. Whether it was negligence, poor communication or disregard for accountability, it says alot about this clinics internal standards. There are plenty of other reputable veterinarians in the area, I will be seeking care elsewhere Im sure they will offer some canned response to this post but they will not be able to deny this happened.

I had an awful experience last weekend with Dr. Schmidt. I brought my 3 year old cavapoo in to be seen for an emergency, bloody stool for 3+ days and Dr. Schmidt tested my dog’s stool sample, saw a “heavy bacteria presence” and gave her a fiber supplement and probiotic as treatment. I specifically asked for an antibiotic to treat the likely bacterial infection and she said “no, let’s wait and see if it gets worse before that.” I spent $500+ on this appointment. Well, in less than 6 hours it got much worse and then I had to take her to a 24/7 animal hospital (VCA Norwalk) and they treated her with antibiotics, fluids and an antiemetic. They diagnosed her the same day with a specific bacterial infection and gave her a thorough examination (over $1,000 later). Save your time, money and peace of mind and go to VCA Norwalk if your dog has an emergency. Dr. Schmidt did not provide my dog with effective care, and she was in fact arrogant and rude when I suggested an antibiotic for my very sick dog. I am dog owner for the last 17 years, and I know when my dog is that sick.
