I brought my 17 year old cat to be seen in the beginning of October for labored breathing. She was quickly taken in to be seen and evaluated. She was in heart failure but they gave me all options that were available for her. I opted to get her treated and she was released home with medication. Her condition deteriorated as days went on and I brought her back to the hospital last night. The staff once again were extremely compassionate and worked efficiently to evaluate her. While I knew her condition was not curable I was hopeful we would have some extra time with her. Every single person who I worked with both times I was at the hospital were all amazing. I was an utter wreck coming in with my cat and the compassion I was met with is something I cannot thank them enough for. I ended up having to euthanize my cat last night as her condition deteriorated. I discussed options with the doctor and she was transparent and understanding of any decision I opted to make. The staff gives you time and space and allowed me to see her before she transitioned over. Thank you all for everything, the space , the understanding and empathy. You all made an difficult situation a little less painful.

VCA Shoreline Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center provided care for our cat Peaches last night during a medical emergency. They took him in quickly and made sure he was seen right away. Although the outcome was heartbreaking and we ultimately had to move forward with euthanasia, the staff showed compassion and patience throughout the entire process. They were gentle with Peaches and supportive toward us during an extremely difficult moment. We are grateful for the kindness they showed during our final goodbye.

⭐ 1 Star — Heartless and Unprofessional Experience at VCA Shelton
Terrible staff — extremely rude and completely lacking compassion or professionalism. They didn’t even try to figure out what was wrong with my dog or make him comfortable. I waited over three hours in an empty visiting room with my bleeding dog, and not a single person offered a towel, blanket, or even a tissue. I ended up taking off my own shirt to comfort him.
The receptionist staff, Mary and Dawn, showed no empathy at all. Instead of assisting me or showing concern for a dying pet, they sat gossiping about Netflix and vacation plans while my dog lay suffering. The level of indifference and lack of communication was shocking.
The very next day, my dog of 13 years, Spot, passed away.
This place showed no care for him or for me as an owner watching my best friend fade away.
If you love your pet, please go anywhere else. The staff here don’t care, and no one deserves to experience what I went through at VCA Shelton.
& please don't contact me now with apologies of sympathies
That you owe to Spot’

This place is insane with the price gouging. Never bring your pet here if they absolutely do not have to come here. They will just keep digging in your pockets raising the price after you have already paid thousands of dollars.

The amount of rage and sadness that i feel having to watch my cat slowly die infront of our face is insane. I won’t go into too much detail but the prices here are beyond crazy. I’m from NY so I’m sure prices are slightly different but it shows this place cares more about the money than the pets coming in their office. In what world should someone spend $800 to leave with no answers? In what world does the everyday American have 10k+ laying around to spend on X-rays and surgeries that may not even work. Not to mention $400 just to humanly euthanize a small cat. The staff was fine besides telling us to wait for paperwork and then never coming back in the room.. To sum this rant session up, If it’s a true emergency come here. If it’s something that can wait please find a clinic that prioritizes your pets health and not the money. I was going to leave this part out but during our 20 minute wait I heard an older woman talking to the receptionist confused on why her bill was $23k. $23,000!!! Call me broke but that’s beyond crazy.
