  Le doy una estrella por qué no se puede dar menos, en ese lugar ni que fuera el último lugar del mundo vuelvo a ir, es un lugar donde no tienen empatía esperé 5 horas para salir sin respuesta y con mi perrito más mal de lo que iba por favor busquen otras opciones de lugares para emergencias

  Will never come back to this office. Brought our dog in at 9:30am as he was acting lethargic and not eating/drinking. We waited an hour before even being seen. Immediately the vet suggested pushing an excessive treatment plan that would cost nearly $2000. We pushed back to start with simple bloodwork and IV fluids, which still somehow came out to a robbery of $1000. Our poor pup, sat in the back for hours while they waited for bloodwork results, and while we sat in an overcrowded, dirty waiting room the whole time with no updates. When I inquired, I was told he already received his IV fluids and that they were waiting for one more blood test result. 45 minutes later the doctor called me asking for permission to administer the IV fluids. I was furious that he was kept in the back just waiting for actual care for hours while we could have been comforting him. Vets offices can be stressful enough on a dog, and this “quality” of care does not make things any better for an anxious pup. Save your money and go somewhere more affordable with a better quality of care for your pet!

  I’ve had consistently positive experiences with this veterinary practice overall. The staff has always been kind, caring, and professional with my dog. Most recently, I brought him in due to wheezing and reverse sneezing. The doctor prescribed an antibiotic, and he showed some improvement after a few days. When I called back to report that the wheezing was still present and asked about a short Prednisone taper, I was told this couldn’t be prescribed without $700 X-rays and another office visit. I was also advised that Prednisone and Apoquel shouldn’t be given together. From my professional background as a nurse, I understand the importance of being cautious, but I also know that these two medications are often safely prescribed together for short-term use under veterinary supervision. I was a bit disappointed that the wheezing couldn’t be addressed more directly without imaging, but this has been my only less-than-ideal experience here. Overall, I truly appreciate the care and attention this clinic has provided to my dog and will continue to trust them with his health.

  The oncology team is unmatched - they provided compassionate, kind care for our pit bull mix throughout his cancer journey. Dr. Kate, Ally, Amanda, and Alexa are all fantastic. Each one of them was a part of our dog Chewy’s support system. We felt like they helped us make the best decisions to maintain the best quality of life possible for as long as we could. And Chewy was never fearful to be there, he loved the team and was well taken care of by this staff. We would refer anyone who has a pet with cancer to this great team. We are so grateful for the support and kindness of the Shelton VCA team during a difficult time.

  I have worked on the floor for 5 years in healthcare before going to the corporate side so I can understand the prioritization as well as it being the day after Christmas. However an Emergency Department, does not have their patient's wait for 9 and a half hours in a waiting room. If there was a wait, staff are trained to make an announcement to EVERYONE and apologize for the wait. That was not done. Staff did not tell pet owners where water was and where dogs or cats can use the bathroom. My phone call to check to see if I had left or not after those 9 and a half hours were nothing but "we wanted to know if you had left or not". To which I said I left, my pet has not eaten or used the restroom, I had to leave. They replied "Okay thank you" and hung up. There was no sympathy or empathy at all. Not even an apology. Unless your pet was showing symptoms, you were always pushed to the bottom of the list. What if it was internal bleeding, what if it was a blockage, what if it was a hemorrhage? Just because there are no physical symptoms does not mean a patient regardless of it being a pet or human should be placed after people who arrived 4 hours after you. I am so appalled by how this place is run. People who were before me and got in at 8 am were not seen until 4pm. That is ridiculous and shameful.
