So I will preface it that I can be difficult to work with especially when I think people are trying to get the better of me. I felt like that is what happened today. I would also like to point out I've been here quite a few times over the years and I have never felt like I was being taken advantage of or that someone was trying to push something on my I didn't want. I came into the store to upgrade to new phone. The sales associate that greeted me, Justin (I think), seemed pretty chill. So we figured out which phone I wanted and directed me to a table. We sat there while he played on his tablet looking at plans. After a minute he starts telling me about the current plan I am on, it is a shared planned, and that we should upgrade to this new plan. At that point I told him I wasn't interested in changing the plan due to the last time I was in to get a phone I was told that we had a plan that was the best and to not change it. He then told me that the plan had been changed at some point by one of my parents and that I should really consider to change it. I again told him that I wasn't interested in changing the plan due to the fact that it wasn't my plan. He then insisted on printing off different plans and then jumped up to go do so. He came back with the print outs and went over them. While going over them he kept talking about a "trade in". When I asked him what he meant by that he said that is how I was going to be able to afford the new phone and then proceeded to point out the differences in thr plan. I again told him I wasn't interested in changing the plan and that I just wanted a new phone. He then seemed to get annoyed with me and told me that I was being "stand off-ish with" with him. Again, I get I can be a pain to work with, but this felt very uncalled for. At this point I again asked him what he meant by "trading in" as he kept saying it. He finally told me it meant trading in my old phone. I told him the last time I upgraded my phone, I didn't have to do that. That we just added the new phone and I left with both in hand. He then asked if "this was my first phone?" I told him it was not. To which he said, "well you usually trade in your old phone to get a new one." I again told him that isn't how it happened last time and that I would like to keep the old phone. He then counted with, "Well you didn't tell me you wanted to keep your phone. You should have told me that." Now I'd like to point out that he didn't once ask me why I wanted to upgrade. He just jumped into pushy sales person mode and kept pushing for plan changes. Especially for automatic payment plan. And that was after being told multiple times I didn't want to change the plan. He even printed another plan that is supposedly only valid for a couple of more days that would allow me to the old phone. And to be honest, after he told me I was being stand off-ish, I had pretty much decided I wasn't going to work with him. So I will take blame for not getting up and walking away at that point. I dislike pushy sales people. I get they probably aren't being paid hourly, but it is pretty obvious this guy cared only about selling an upgraded plan more than listening to what I had told him.
