- NWNiah WilsonDec 9, 20253.0I brought an almost ten year old MacBook in to see about a battery replacement. I made the appointment through Apple's website. When I arrived they were running behind a bit, but I didn't mind waiting. When I was eventually able to speak with the associate about the issue, I was immediately shut down about a repair and encouraged to just buy a new laptop. The associate kept cutting me off and speaking over me, insisting the laptop was 'obsolete' and a lost cause. It was such an unpleasant interaction that I brought it into Apple the next day, needing to hear it from a second source. There I received a completely different response. The device is considered 'vintage' and they were able to take it in for the battery replacement (plus fix a couple of keys for me on the spot). Ultimately if you're looking for an older Apple repair, I would just skip trying here and go to Apple. The only reason I am not leaving a lower review is all of the other Best Buy employees were very friendly and at the end of the day, I can't vouch for Geek Squad's actual repair service.
