United Companies is best known as the company with the red, white and blue trucks, serving our communities with the production of sand and rock products, ready-mixed concrete, hot mixed asphalt and construction services, including grading and paving of highways, streets, parking lots and driveways. Since 1953, we have steadily grow from a handful of employees working in the Grand Junction area to currently employing 300 people and serving a market area of over 14,500 square miles in 11 counties in Western Colorado. Our area of operations includes Mesa County, Rio Blanco, Garfield, Delta, Montrose and Gunnison counties. United Companies joined the Oldcastle Materials team in 1998.

- AMAngie MartinDec 16, 20251.0Do not use this company for your concrete needs. Our company needed some materials - gave them the exact mix we needed - 3 slump, as well as the exact formula. First truck - 5 slump, super watery for what we needed. Sent it back, got next truck (supposedly). Our guys assumed it was right and started. Still 5 slump. We ended up having to use it, cost our guys 6 hours in OT waiting on the truck twice and having to clean up all of the mess from the wrong materials. They didn't care. No credit for their mess up at all. It just is what it is. We will not be using this company again. As a small business ourselves, this is super unfortunate for us and them. We also notified the people who referred us to them when our regular supplier was unavailable.

She is always just talking and smoking and NOT paying attention. I guess which is why they have that kind of job. They simply have NO clue that people actually live on the side streets and need to know where they want us to go. The sooner they finish and are gone, the better. This project has taken them over 2 years and they still are not even close to finished. If I was in charge of the city, I definitely wouldn't use this company.

The estimating crew has went way down hill. This is unacceptable in the day and age of smart phones, computers and Siri. Won’t be using them in the future.
