VCA forces you to have checkups prior to releasing medication essential for the wellbeing of my dog. This creates a hostage situation between the medication you absolutely need and your wallet. Money is more important than your dogs life.

We are incredibly grateful to have found Dr. Kopf and Dr. Emch after an extensive search for compassionate, board certified, and highly skilled veterinary neurologists. Dr. Kopf performed a challenging ventral slot surgery on our beloved, brachycephalic dog with exceptional precision and care. Thanks to her expertise, our pup is now pain-free and on the road to recovery—walking comfortably and well on her way to being her happy, active self again. Words cannot fully express our gratitude—Dr. Kopf, thank you for saving our baby. Dr. Emch has been equally outstanding in managing seizures for our other dog. Their knowledge, attentiveness, and genuine compassion have made all the difference for our family. After difficult experiences at Wheatridge Animal Hospital and Blue Pearl Lafayette where we felt like just a number, and the standard for our babies was poor at best, the level of care and personal attention here truly stood out. Please disregard any negative reviews and take the time to speak with these remarkable doctors—you won’t regret it. We also want to give a special thank you to Josh, the anesthesiologist, for his important role in our pet’s care. We highly recommend Dr. Kopf and Dr. Emch to anyone in need of expert neurological care for their pets.

Thank you to the team at VCA Alameda East for the kindness, care and compassion shown to me and my baby Toulouse! Dr. Shanti Coleman is hands down the best vet we have worked with.. ever. It is hard to put into words how grateful I am for people like Dr. Coleman and I would quite literally follow her over a cliff, if she medically advised me to do so. Thank you to Kristin our tech for assisting and teach us how to properly medicate our baby. Priscilla & Matt at the reception who took my frantic phone calls and had paperwork completed prior to our arrival and exercised the utmost empathy with an anxious cat mom - THANK YOU. Your anticipation, preparation and patience made a horrific day much easier. To the team at the pharmacy counter who has dealt with my nonstop voicemails, thank you for educating me and showing me the best paths to recovery. We are 7 days into 84 days of treatment and it would not have been possible without the swift caretaking of the team at VCA Alameda East, we are forever grateful.

Our dog Kona was having some constipation issues and then sudden neurological issues about 2 months ago. Our main vet was concerned and recommended that we have him see a neurologist. We called around to a few places and the earliest we could get in was 2 weeks. But then we called VCA and told the staff on the phone what was going on. She immediately spoke with the neurologist and they were able to fit us in the following day. We saw neuro, got an MRI of the spine the day after, and unfortunately found a large tumor in Kona’s spinal cord that was causing the progressively worsening symptoms. The neurologist (I’m almost certain it was Dr. Emch - sorry if I’m mixing up the names!!) was incredibly compassionate about delivering the news to us and supporting our decision to eventually put Kona down (as we knew he was suffering and just rapidly declining). Hardest decision we’ve had to make, but the support and kindness shown by everyone at VCA really provided us with that little bit of comfort during a time of distress and sadness. Although we miss Kona dearly, we are forever grateful to VCA and their staff

First and foremost, I want to thank all of the assistants, vet techs, and veterinarians who helped care for our Doberman, Jax. We had to travel 3½ hours one way, but it was absolutely worth the trip. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with kindness and respect, and our sweet boy was given so much love and compassion. Unfortunately, after Jax was diagnosed with DCM, we knew there wasn’t much that could be done, but the team did everything possible to keep him comfortable and cared for. We left him there for a couple of nights, and they were wonderful about keeping us updated the entire time. When we came back to pick him up, it was like he had life back in him. We hadn’t seen him like that in quite a while. Being able to bring him home happy, along with medication to keep him comfortable, has meant everything to us. It’s given us precious time to enjoy him while he’s still here. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for treating Jax like one of your own family members, it truly means more than words can express. ❤️
