***Warning - if you are looking for a vet who will care about you or your dog, look elsewhere*** Our history with VCA began in 2022 when I was recommended to bring my dog to VCA hospitals following adopting him from Foothills Animal Shelter. The shelter itself recommended coming to you, so I did. For the first two years, things were very good. Dr. Longo was always very kind to King and compassionate and treated him like the sweet boy he is. Since Dr. Longo has left, however, my dog and I have been disrespected and treated like we do not matter by the vets that are employed. We are being gaslit to believe that King has a problem, when meanwhile he is treated aggressively, harshly, and forgettably by the staff. We came in today after an appointment two weeks ago where Dr. Wilkins said he would not treat King without any medication, we bought three items per the Dr's request for the follow up appointment we would need to have today. The three items were: • Acepromazine (gen) 10mg/mL/mL [325.5]: 0.30 mL • TraZODone HCL (gen) 100mg Tab [329.465]: 10.00 tab • Gabapentin (gen) 300mg Cap [329.311]: 15.00 cap I administered these items to him last night and this morning creating a very nervous and scared sleepy boy. Today, for our appointment, Dr. Wilkins had no memory of why we had made our appointment or what we needed to do. The staff had on record that he received his Bordetella on 10/29 (he did not, the Dr. determined he could not administer it) and his records were not correct. The Dr. confirmed for the VTs that he did not receive his bordetella on 10/29 but could not come speak with me. I became emotional in the hospital today. This is not how I want myself or my dog to be treated. We will be finding a new vet. The VTs today agreed that this was a ridiculous situation I was put in - to drug my dog (who had never been drugged before) for an appointment with no agenda.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Dori Calloway and the entire team at VAC Firehouse Animal hospital . From the moment we walked in, I knew my dog was in the best hands. They are compassionate, patient, and truly go above and beyond to make Oreo and I feel comfortable. Calloway took the time to explain every step of the process and options in detail, answering all my questions with kindness and genuine care. You can tell they really love animals — my dog Oreo, who’s usually nervous at the vet, was calm and comfortable the whole time! The clinic is spotless, well-organized, and modern, but what really sets them apart is the people. They treat every pet as if it were their own. Whether it’s a routine check-up or an emergency visit, I know I can trust them completely. If you’re looking for a vet who combines professional expertise with a huge heart, look no further than Calloway at VAC. We’re so grateful to have found them — they’ve earned a lifelong client in us! 🐶

This was first free visit with VCA with my very first cat. Kaitlin, Terra, and Dr. Farnsworth were all very kind and were very gentle with my cat. Him and I were both nervous, and they made this visit very pleasant. Any treatments they did on him were very professional and gentle as possible for my cat. Thank you guys!

I arrived at my new cat's appointment, which was offered for free through Foothills Animal Shelter. The receptionist found no record of the appointment, my phone call to schedule or the multiple voicemails I received asking me to schedule. A manager intervened to confirm all of the above & stated they are at full capacity & cannot schedule me. 45 minutes round trip with an upset kitten in my car, down the drain. Not helpful at all!'

I brought my pet in for what turned out to be a UTI. Dr. Wilkins and general service was fantastic, but the proceeding treatment plan and handling of things post visit was very distressing. The general recommendation of treatments, withholding of options or knowledge unless probed, and general vaguity of what is critical vs generally recommended dissolved my trust in their clinic. I was suggested to send for a urine culture, for $240, which would take 3 days, to get a prescription for which specific antibiotic to prescribe when my pet was actively infected and had been for 2 days at that point. This is borderline anti hippocratic oath obfuscation. Their pricing is incredibly expensive, consistently always at the highest typical end in my experience. Exam for $129, Bloodwork and Fecal sample was quoted at $550. Medications are typical inflated vet prices. Following this I can't honestly assess if their motives with my pet are for their best care, or purely profit motivated. I suggest searching for a locally owned clinic.
