Locanda Villa d'Epoca is located at Ronchini di Aurigeno in Vallemaggia. We can be reached from Locarno in 15 minutes by car or by regular buses; the bus stop is adjacent to our entrance.
Rooms:
The Villa was built in 1896, completely renovated in 2000 and underwent further renovation during winter 2023/2024.
As of March 1, 2024, the new manager is Elisabetta Martinoli, who has long experience in the restaurant business as she ran Grotto da Peo at Monti in Ronco s/Ascona for a decade and previously was active in various restaurants in Geneva for thirty years.
The rooms were renovated in winter 2023/2024 and all have minibars, coffee and tea makers, bathrobes, and free wi-fi. Only one does not have a shower and toilet in the room but has it privately outside. Included in the price of the rooms is a buffet breakfast.
Free parking is available for our guests.
Restaurant:
Locanda Villa d'Epoca offers local and home cooking where local or regional products are preferred.
Depending on the season, different recipes are offered such as ravioli, gnocchi, risotto, rabbit, shin, braised meat, etc.. In autumn there is no shortage of fresh porcini mushrooms and game.
The restaurant and garden lend themselves very well to family celebrations, ceremonies or a relaxing time after a day of work.

La cena era legata ad un evento con musica country; gruppo molto attivo e coinvolgente. Bravi. Un gran peccato che il clou della serata sia stato molto deludente: buffet di insalate (in scatola la maggior parte) e costine BOLLITE prima di incontrare la griglia. A domanda precisa sul metodo di cottura, la titolare mi cita “il segreto della marinatura…”. Come se le conoscenze della griglia fossero riservate a chef stellati. Una vera delusione e mancanza di trasparenza e rispetto per il cliente. In conclusione, se la carne bollita vi attrae, avete trovato il posto giusto. Prezzo compreso. Enzo

The breakfast menu is another highlight: it was probably one of the best eggs I’ve ever had! The rooms are spacious, charmingly furbished and spot on clean. The location makes it an ideal hub for visiting grottos, larger cities, rivers and lakes, and hike trails. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel and the area is very quiet for a restful sleep. Absolutely worth recommending!
