Welcome was efficient but not warm. This continued throughout the evening. You should know the restaurant is small with tight space around the tables. The waiter was quite abrupt, dismissive and arrogant when asked any questions. It came across as ‘this is our concept take it or leave it.” When trying to have a conversation about the wine it was a choice only between ‘dry or fruity’ which baffled me. A bottle of Portuguese Syrah arrived. It was fine. A ‘tuna spread’ gift from the kitchen came with a very small portion of bread. It tasted fine, but you could tell it had been sitting out due to the discoloration on top of the spread rather than scooped fresh. The tapas were disappointing. The prawns were fine. The meat was all consistently dry - meatballs, chicken skewers and the pork with clams. The pork belly was a crime, cremated at high temperature and dry while also room temperature - a curiosity in itself. I also didn’t understand the one tiny plate provided since all the flavors inevitably blended together when you served yourself. I got a dirty questioning look when I asked for a clean plate. Extra portions of dry bread were given grudgingly. The pastel de nata was lovely. An arrogant concept restaurant which doesn’t need a second visit. Truly disappointing given how wonderful the food scene in Lisbon can be. Our female friend kindly picked up the bill for the table, soliciting an unnecessary comment from the waiter that bordered on misogynistic. Women can pay for men in 2026.

Very good homemade food and friendly staff and warm environment! Nice backyard to enjoy good weather. The best Pastel de Nata in Basel, a little of Portugal in the city.

Faire Preise.

Great food, especially the salads, and the best Pasteis de Nata in Switzerland! Only drawbacks are the prices of the modest tapas dishes (sauces to die for) and outlandish price for water and the tiny portions of bread.

Even Tough the food was rather good the overall experience was less than pleasant. The waiter the did not speak German. Not even basic and that had no interest whatsoever in trying. When we asked what type of cheese was on the plate we were served as we found it very good his answer was: goat pointing at one, goat, pointing at the second and cow pointing at the third??? One colleague who is severely allergic to gluten pointed at another plate asking if the dish was gluten free. Everything except the cheese was his answer. I said gluten not lactose. Then he went checking with the kitchen. During the whole stay we had the feeling not being really welcome. I will not renew the experience.
