The Foundation’s purpose is to preserve or create non-profit social housing in the Basel region, in existing buildings and, where appropriate, in buildings to be newly constructed. The social housing offer is aimed in particular at families, senior citizens, single parents and refugees. The Foundation’s purpose is to create space for an active, family-like community in which people share their lives, support one another and find guidance and orientation. Particular emphasis is placed on promoting mutual support through community-based self-help and fostering exchange between different generations through joint activities. The Foundation may operate communal facilities, such as a meditation and prayer room, a guest room, a multi-purpose room and a volunteer-run meeting place (café). The Foundation may provide affordable holiday apartments. The Foundation is non-profit in nature, pursues no commercial purposes and does not seek to make a profit. The Foundation operates on a Christian basis. Its aim is to create space for a vibrant Christian and ecumenical community. It promotes mutual understanding, solidarity and the integration of residents. It also supports respectful and appreciative coexistence, regardless of age, origin or personal circumstances.
