No sense of urgency. What costs 250 in Colorado I was estimated 664.00.. before filling out any paperwork they took my dog to the back assuming they would get started immediately since it’s time sensitive for a dog to regurgitate also I had called and let them know… some time goes by I’m in there thinking that has already started… no.. doctor came in to the room once to tell me the plan - okay I authorized verbally I agreed, they’ll get started NOW I thought… wrong now a nurse comes in to ask me questions I ALREADY had filled out on the prior paper work and I ask her what my dogs update and she says they still haven’t started mind you it’s been about 10 mins now.. I tell her we’re just wasting time she says we need authorization I said I already gave it filled out paper work and signed and verbally agreed and she says that’s not for authorization smh.. Then you have a sign about rude/ aggressive people with nurses like that absolutely. No sense of urgency. Absolutely grateful for the doctor but this staff needs to be more empathetic and have some sense of urgency!!!!

Do not bring your pet here if you want kind, knowledgeable service. The front looks nice and welcoming but that doesn't equal the care we got with our dog. They basically sedated him, to examine what looked like a mass. He wasn't examined but they tried to make him go poop outside which was interesting because that’s the reason we took him because he couldn’t , said it was impacted, gave meds and sent us home. And charged a ridiculously amount of money. When we called this morning the rude lady answering the phone said she would be charged again although our dog didn't get an exam last night. They just drugged him and sent us on our way. We are now at another hospital, and they immediately looked at him, without drugging him and found the problem.
What??? Insane! Our dog suffered at the hands of this incompetent place. Please, if you love your pet, stay clear!!!!

Thank you so much to Dr. Fein and her amazing team for the care they provided to Nala! Initially I called to get information and received great patient service from Amanda, who provided answers to all the questions I had. When I followed up for more information, Caitlyn also did an amazing job answering all my questions and helped me get the process started to bring in Nala. Upon arrival to the VCA Orange County Veterinary Specialists office I was very kindly greeted and checked-in by Ofelia. Ofelia was amazing and super welcoming after a drive in heavy rain. Very shortly after, Taylor came from the back office to bring Nala, my mom, and myself into a room. Taylor did amazing in regards to taking notes regarding Nala's symptoms to provide to Dr. Fein. Taylor patiently heard my summary, asked questions to clarify, and answered all the questions I had before moving on to take Nala to the back office to check vitals and get an abdominal ultra sound. A few minutes after I had finished filling out the new patient paper work while waiting for Nala, Dr. Fein came in to explain her observation and analysis of Nala's medical history and her current examination. Thank you for taking care of Nala, VCA Orange County Veterinary Specialists!

Everyone from the front staff to vet techs and the Veterinarian were great on our visit. Our dogs back hips suddenly stopped working and he was unable to get up, along with an odd breathing pattern. We took him in on a busy Friday afternoon by the time we got there his hips were at least better he could walk on his own but was so slow. They took him to to back quickly. The vet tech had great communication and told us it would be a while due to a dire emergency case that just came in. The Vet finally came in and gave some updates on his vitals. She also did had a very thorough conversation about our dogs medical history. Through this conversation, time, and research she uncovered an issue with medications he was prescribed by our local vet. We are so grateful that at the end of a long day our visit was treated with absolute respect and we figured out what was wrong.
I cannot imagine working at an emergency vet hospital is easy, we are so thankful for everyone who helped us at VCA.
