- LLLeslie *Lee*Jan 27, 20261.0I called the Geek Squad Call Center since I cannot call a store directly and asked if the Tustin Marketplace, CA store would remove the hard drive from my old non-working desktop, drill holes in the round plate to destroy the data on it and recycle. I was told yes and at no charge and no appointment is needed. So I carry the heavy All-in-One computer in and the clerk then told me they don't drill holes. The manager then told me removing the drive will cost $100 which I removed mostly myself except for a couple screws and I'd have to take it elsewhere to destroy. He was a total jerk and didn't care what I had been told on the phone. So what I got was nothing but lies and a waste of my time. I then stopped at Staples and the tech removed the couple screws to release the drive right then, told me to hammer the drive with several whacks to destroy it and to bring it back to recycle .. all for a charge of $9.95.
