  Absolutely do NOT recommend VCA Old River Animal Hospital. They have changed for the worse. Their system “glitched” and somehow deleted my dog’s long-standing auto-ship medication that had been on file with Dr. Jackson, who was AMAZING. Of course, Dr. Jackson has now left, and everything has gone downhill since. Now the “general manager” — who is not a veterinarian — decided to play doctor and tell me that my dog’s condition, pannus (chronic superficial keratitis, scar tissue/cloudiness in BOTH eyes), isn’t a chronic condition. That is flat-out wrong. Pannus IS chronic and requires lifelong management. I’m sorry, but where did you get your veterinary license to make medical decisions? Instead of simply continuing an established treatment plan that has already been diagnosed, documented, and treated for, they now want me to: Cancel all my existing plans Schedule a visit with another doctor Pay AGAIN Just to be told the exact same thing: Yes, he has pannus. Yes, it’s chronic. Yes, he needs ongoing medication. This is a complete waste of time, completely unnecessary stress for my dog, and feels like nothing more than a money-making scheme. This hospital used to be great. Now it’s disorganized, dismissive, and more interested in billing than patient care. Losing Dr. Jackson clearly took the quality of care with him. Highly disappointed. Highly frustrated. Highly do NOT recommend.

  Dr Lesia Machicao looks nice mostly very experience doctor, Just one visit prescribe the right medication , My dog become normal in couple of days , poor dog suffered food allergy for so long. Thank You Dr Machicao

  These people were so kind and patient with me it was unbelievable. This was the day I had to put my 14 year old best friend who happens to be a Rottweiler to sleep one of the hardest days of my life. These people really care about animals and I'm sorry to say you can't say that about all veterinarians. About 10 days later I received his box of Ashes and a tiny vial with some of his hair in it and two little hearts on the top of the bottle it's beautiful. What really got to me was the card They sent and everyone there sign the card that just tore me up I must have cried for a half an hour it was beautiful. I think these people from the bottom of my heart they'll never know what they will mean to me and I will think about them throughout my life.

  I'm so happy and love bringing my fur baby to VCA. I highly recommend bringing your pet here. They are very helpful and friendly. Been coming to VCA for over 2 years and have NOT had any issues at all.
