To Best Buy Management and Corporate Relations,
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a series of unethical sales practices, billing errors, and a total failure of customer service at your 8th St. location in Saskatoon. Due to the treatment I received, I no longer consider your brand "Best Buy," but rather "Worst Buy."
1. Unethical "Selling Point" Tactics
I was pressured into a protection plan as a primary selling point for my purchase. I was later advised to cancel the plan after three months. Using a service plan as a temporary "incentive" to close a sale, only to have the cancellation process become a financial penalty, is a deceptive and unethical business practice.
2. Failed Service and Retaliatory Charges
I visited the store for a simple screen protector replacement. I was left to wait over an hour for a task that should take minutes. When I expressed my frustration and chose to cancel the plan, the store retroactively revoked my initial discounts and gift cards, charging me the full retail price. I complied, returned the gift card, and was assured by online customer service that all plans were terminated.
3. Unauthorized Billing
Despite being assured of the cancellation, I discovered I have been wrongfully charged for the last four months. This is an unauthorized withdrawal of funds for a service I was told was defunct.
4. Unprofessional Conduct (Staff: Ashraf)
When I returned to the 8th St. store to resolve this, the staff member, Ashraf, claimed he could not recall the incident. When I challenged the ethics of the protection plan and asked for a refund for services never rendered, he became dismissive and showed a visible "attitude" in front of other staff members. He stated he "would not give me service."
Desired Resolution:
1. A full refund for the four months of unauthorized protection plan charges
2. Formal acknowledgement of this complaint and the steps being taken to correct the billing error.
I will not be recommending Best Buy to anyone in my professional or personal circles, and I will continue to share my negative experience until this is rectified. I expect a response regarding my refund immediately.
Sincerely,
Mohammad

We just wanted to commend one of your employees name Raafat BB 8th Saskatoon. for consistently giving exceptional customer service every single time we visit Best Buy. This is already the second time he has assisted me and my husband with our purchases, and honestly, he deserves recognition.
He always serves with a smile, genuine enthusiasm, and so much patience. He is extremely knowledgeable, never makes us feel rushed, and is always willing to help us compare products, answer questions, and figure out what works best for us.
And trust me… we are NOT easy customers. 😂
We keep adding items, removing items, changing our minds, asking “what if,” and somehow turning a quick visit into a full shopping adventure. Yet he stood there helping us for hours without a single complaint — just kindness, professionalism, and a smile on his face the entire time.
At this point, my husband and I are joking that we may need to avoid him next time… because every time he helps us, we end up buying something. 😂
Employees like him are the reason customers keep coming back. Please give him the recognition he truly deserves. Outstanding customer service like this is rare nowadays, and we really appreciate the positive experience every time we shop there. All the best Raafat!!!

Went to bestbuy for a school laptop, was looking at the chromebooks as they are cheaper and one of the guys working on the floor told me I couldn't use chrome for college and that I needed to use a windows 11, proceeded to mansplain how a Chromebook works and how i need to buy a 1.2k Asus for school and not a budget friendly $400 laptop. Will not come here again

Came here to purchase a new cell phone. I did research in advance and new which model I wanted, which they had in stock. However, the sales associate showed no intrest in selling me this model and instead tried to get me to purchase a more expensive one. He gave me 2 other options and when I didn't decide right away he said to let him know when I decided and he walked away. Not at all professional. This was the first time I tried to make a purchase at Best Buy and it will be the last.

I know a lot of people usually leave reviews only when they’ve had a negative experience and want to express frustration, but I wanted to leave one because I’ve consistently had really positive experiences at the Best Buy on 8th Street in Saskatoon. The staff here have always been friendly, approachable, and willing to help without being pushy. I’ve shopped here several times for electronics and accessories, and every visit has gone smoothly. Of course mistakes can happen anywhere, but what stands out is that the team here handles issues professionally and does their best to make things right. Great location with great people working there.
