  Alright: I regret the previous review. I jumped the gun. Today (Fed 1st) got a call from Patty at VCA Sta Monica. She listen to me… which was quite.. refreshing! I super appreciated it. She heard me out. She took it like a pro she is. In short: I’m relieved to learn reviews are reviewed and VCA is on top of them and in turn committed to their customers. So five stars it is. I spend an average of 5 to 6k yearly on this one VCA location. Inevitably, the feeling is -at the end of the day- the only thing they really care is to find ways to squeeze the most money out of you. The minute I find a vet that puts pets first, I will never ever set foot on vca again.

  Gave my dog an expired heartworm shot this time last year. The tech who administered was honest enough to admit. But managers became very defensive. Fast forward a year, no other vet provides the 1 year heartworm shot (both my new vet and the vca near me do not), so I tried to schedule to go back here. They refused service. Due to their own negligence. I should have and should still file malpractice complaint. Extreme negligence, no regards for decency.

  While the appointment wait time is long, as are ALL vets right now, the doctor we saw (on a Saturday nonetheless) was kind, patient and compassionate. My 80lb dog is a bit anxious and skittish around new people and Dr Lee immediately recognized this, sat on the floor with him, gave him treats and was extra patient with him while he warmed up. He was great in answering all my questions and walking me through the options he suggested for treatment. The vet tech was also so great with our dog and explaining the medications/treatments that Manny had that day. Thank you VCA!

  Folks are nice - it just seems to be excessively expensive.

  We are so happy we found this VCA location! Every vet here is amazing and truly cares about our dog. They get down on the floor with her, play with her and the take time to answer all my questions. I know my pup gets the best care when we take her here, and nothing is more important.
