Do Not Buy Computers or anything- From Any Best Buy. Son bought me a NEW Windows 11 laptop about a year ago online. Finally needed to set up the laptop so I could install TurboTax. I opened the box - nothing shrink wrapped. Opened the laptop - someone else had used it - J Q with a cat profile picture. Took laptop & proof of purchase to this Best Buy. Geek Squad manager said it was sold as NEW - and I would have to pay $180 for them to wipe the drive. Fraud - Best Buy sold as NEW. Best Buy failed again to stand behind their sale. The wipe takes about 15 minutes.

I have no idea what happened to Best Buy but wow the service is just straight terrible. Bought a router a month ago and it died. Went in to ask for an exchange since it was out of policy. Girl at the counter said she can’t do it and that we should have bought their membership since it gives us 60 days to return as if I expected it to die out in a month. Then the girl literally said she can’t make an exception because it’s unfair to people who pay for the membership. I understand not making an exception if it had been months out but it was literally a month. What happened to Best Buy?

First of all, I purchased all my appliances minus the fridge from Pacific Sales. Bought from Robert who has been the absolute best! This review is for the delivery service and phone customer service! The absolute worst! I should’ve had my appliances stalled on February 2. The initial delivery driver was horrible. He appeared to be incompetent of installation and also charged me upfront for screws to be put into my backsplash and the conversion kit for my gas range come to find out three appointments later realized the conversion kit was not installed properly and my oven is a blazing inferno and smells like gas. I made an appointment that was supposed to be today and they canceled on me since they had old notes and wasn’t correct information. I am now fed up with Best Buy and will be having someone else inspect my appliance and do it correctly. They have horrible communication. Do not ever use Best Buy for any of your appliance needs. Also, trying to get a refund is also a disaster! Lastly, I had to hire my contractor to install all my appliances instead but the initial delivery guy didn’t leave us with the gas line or the anti tip bracket. Just horrible. I can’t say it enough!

I had a Dashcam installed here and after everything, wishing I hadn’t. From ordering the wrong parts (what they told me I needed). To installing and causing brand new problems. I quickly drove back after leaving the install because I noticed a sound coming from inside my vehicle that was not previously occurring prior to the install. Rather than working with me to find a solution, I was told basically there was nothing he could do. Honestly, I’d rather have no camera than a new mystery problem and rattling inside my very nice car. I now have to take my car to BMW for repairs due to the bad install service provided. That’s a really shitty feeling after paying $150 for a professional install. I’ll be sending my bill to BMW repair bill to Best Buy in the hopes to made honest on the situation.

Today marks the worst interaction I've ever had with a retailer in my 40+ years of consciousness. Here's the recap: I recently bought a tablet from a Best Buy (BB) competitor, but I saw a better tablet on BB's website that was an open box. I returned the first tablet and immediately went to the San Marcos BB to buy the open-box. The item was cosmetically fine, and the box had "Inspected by Best Buy" stickers on it. Great, so far. I got the tablet home and charged, but when I went to do the initial setup, the tablet was *still logged in by the previous owner!* So much for "inspected." I performed a factory reset and tried again. Nope, factory reset protection meant I still needed the previous owner's credentials. I called Geek Squad (GS) and they assured me they could handle it. I drove BACK to the store, only to be told the tablet could be returned or exchanged. Seemingly annoyed with the most basic form of customer service, the 20-something redhead GS member told me two stores with comparable open-box items. So later, I drove to *another* BB store, only to be told they could not locate the item. Wow. Ok, I'll take the credit on a gift card, since my debit card would take days to clear a refund. In the BB parking lot, I used the gift card to order a comparable (but out-of-area) open-box item from their website, then I drove an hour home. When I got home, I had an email that the order was canceled because they could not locate the item at yet another store! Now there's no tablet and no money left on the gift card. I talked to four different overseas CS reps, telling the story four different times, only for them to tell me they will investigate and then mail out another gift card in 2-4 business days. Today is Wednesday and I need the tablet this weekend. Four business days means, maybe, next Tuesday. That's fitting, I guess. See You Next Tuesday! I'll waiting at the front door of my bank in the morning, and filing an immediate charge-back for the $300 that has vanished into the ether. This is completely unacceptable for any retailer, let alone one of BB's size. I'll do everything in my power to avoid shopping at this chain, ever again. You will see this review posted to any and all relevant websites. Say Hi to Circuit City for me👋
