I asked an older guy at the Best Buy in San Marcos Geek desk to test my JLab headset because I was not sure if I just needed a new connection or a new headset. He brought it back and said it didn’t light up and my headset was no longer good. I bought a new headset and after connecting my old set with the new connection, it did indeed work. Shame on the guy at the desk that lied to me.

Been trying to give Best Buy a second chance since they’re local and it’s nice to have a local business. Just tried purchasing a keyboard and mouse, but was so disappointed to find they must do dynamic pricing because on my computer it was one price at home a different price on my phone and a completely different price in store. The store would not match the online price from their own website. I took the price of all of these the same day not different days which just made me so upset that they’re taking advantage of you. If you actually come in store will do everything to not shop here again knowing they use those type of tactics.

I purchased a brand-new TV from Best Buy – Murrieta, CA. I drove straight home, opened the box, and the TV was cracked out of the box.
I live about halfway between the Murrieta and San Marcos stores, so either location is essentially the same distance. Best Buy’s policy states returns can be made at any store, so within hours of purchase I went to the San Marcos location to return or exchange the TV.
The store manager refused the return, falsely stating the TV had to be in “like new condition,” even though it was sold to me already broken. Because of this refusal, I had to drive all the way back to Murrieta through the rain, where they immediately confirmed San Marcos was wrong and accepted the return without issue.
What made this experience unacceptable was how the San Marcos store manager treated me. During this interaction, the manager:
Disrespectful / Abusive Behavior
• Talked down to me as if I was stupid or incompetent
• Mocked and laughed at my complaint and questions
• Used sarcasm and condescension (e.g., “That’s not how it works, obviously”)
• Raised his voice and spoke aggressively in front of other customers
• Gaslighted me by denying what was happening (“That never happened” / “You’re imagining it”)
• Refused a return/refund even though policy clearly allows it
• Invented policies on the spot to deny the return
• Withheld assistance intentionally as a way to punish the customer
• Made me wait excessively instead of helping
• Refused to escalate the issue or provide corporate contact information
This entire situation wasted my time, gas, and patience and was completely unnecessary. A straightforward damaged-out-of-box return turned into an ordeal solely because of how the San Marcos store manager chose to behave.
Because of this experience, I will never shop at Best Buy again, and I am posting this so others are aware of how customers can be treated at this location when there is a problem.

Best Buy is awkward. The staff is knowledgeable but seemed irritated with me. Not patient in explaining one item from another. The front greeter was friendly and helpful. The checkout area is beyond confusing. It isn't clear! Who is checking people out. Where to stand. Where service is. Or who is helping who. It is a cluster.
BUT, I did have an issue with one of the 3 items I bought. They exchanged it. They asked a couple of questions and processed the exchange quickly and professionally. I am not a technical person. I'm not stupid, but electronics aren't my thing. I will definitely go back. I'll just be better prepared and knowledgeable about the items I'm interested in purchasing.

So I went in today 12/31 and I now realize why Best Buy is closing stores. The service is absolutely terrible. I spoke with Lamb about a return. He then offered a solution and when I said yes he then said no and told me I had to call customer service. He was unable to help with a simple return. I buy and return products on line daily and this was the worst customer service I have had in years. What’s crazy is I was dealing with humans and they did not understand. I had 5 of the exact things on a receipt and paid $43.45 and had a discount of $10. So I’m only getting $37.95. Even customer service was no good.
