This emergency vet is not one I would recommend, Who takes advantage of clients in their emotional time. I took my puppy here about 2 weeks ago and sadly we had to put her down. We were told there was nothing they could have done to save her. We had a very hard decision to make to set her free and put her down. We were so sad and emotional. We were told a price to euthanize and to receive her ashes back to us. We were told to go on a website because they use a third party for cremation and to give the address we would like the ashes to be sent to. What we were not told was it was going to cost us an extra $435 to the third party company for the puppy’s ashes back. At this vet we paid $350 for euthanizing and an extra $435 to receive the ashes back. This is insane. If we were told this at the office we would have brought our puppy home and buried her ourselves, instead we were tricked to leave her with them and it would cost us more money to get her back home where we can mourn and send to her to freedom. I am devastated. I feel taken advantage of and disappointed in the company. Side note: we had to put our senior dog put down a few weeks prior to this due to illness that was uncurable. Our normal vet made the experience peaceful and half the price and we received her ashes with in 4 days. With all this said I writing this review to wish this office will take this review and change their way they handle hard times for future clients. At the end we don’t have our puppy’s ashes and we don’t know where they are. And refuse to work this vet office.

Never have availability or able to see pets. Couple years back I tried bringing my pet here and was denied due to capacity and staff, again this year trying to to go to this place because our vet recommended to go here if we have emergency and since it’s closest to us and again was denied due to the same reason. If walk ins are not able to be accommodated it shouldn’t not be advertised as a walk in emergency veterinary hospital. Staff should also have a little bit if compassion and be considerate of situations pet owners may be going through, instead of having a attitude over the phone when people are calling for help. Highly recommended Veterinary Emergency group in San Jose or San Ramon they are always able to see us without a problem.

Please avoid VCA at all costs! I came here because my dog was hysterically shaking and had shortness of breath. When I arrived, they told me it would be a 3-4 hour wait. After waiting 3 hours my dog got noticeably worse. When I asked if the doctor could possibly give her something for her discomfort, I was told that I would have to wait 3 MORE hours until the doctor could come see my dog before they gave her anything. We also asked why my dog wasn't being prioritized if she was progressively getting worse, and they told us unless her gums turn white, they cannot do anything until the doctor frees up and told us we would be better off going somewhere else. This was extremely heartbreaking because we had already waited so long, and for them to blatantly tell us to go somewhere else made the situation worse. We ended up driving to the Veterinary Emergency Group in San Ramon with my poor dog struggling to breathe and the service was night and day. As soon as we arrived to the hospital and they saw my poor dog in distress they immediately assessed her gave her something to calm her pain. The way my dog was treated at VCA was so disappointing and cruel. Do not take your animals here, they simply do not care.

Unfriendly staff, very inflexible with their payment options. I’ve been taking my dog here for 10 years and they all of a sudden change their policy even for long standing clients. I drove all the way from Pacifica at 11 o’clock at night for them to tell me.

They have no respect for your time. We waited over 5 hours to get our dog seen before we decided to leave. This on top of taking our dog to a back room so as an already traumatized pet owner have no idea how our pet is doing. In addition the furniture you spend 5 hours waiting in is horribly uncomfortable and wrecks your back. Only reason I didn't give a 1 star is that they do respond over the phone for follow up questions and the staff at the front are doing their best. Their hands are just tied because of the limited amount of vets working in the back. We would have been better off driving an extra 30 minutes to another ER center that could have seen our dog sooner.
