I brought my 11 year old cat, who has never been out of my condo, there on 12/24. Everyone there was very nice and they took good care of my drama queen! 😹 When I needed to contact them after to get a prescription they filled it very quickly and were quick to answer my questions.

I have nothing but good things to say about the VCA animal specialty group. Unfortunately, on 18 November I had to bring my kitty in named charger. He was 18 years old and he was very sick and he ended up passing away, but they were extremely compassionate. They were very honest with me And they were very gentle and loving towards my cat. They wrapped him in a warm blanket and make sure that his last goodbye was not chaotic at all I just wanted to say thank you so much and I appreciate all the care that you did give him in a short amount of time and I really love the paw print and the cremation process that was given to me . I did not remember the doctor that was on call for that night around 8:30 PM, but she was amazing and very sympathetic .

Wonderful care and we are very grateful that in the midst of an awful traumatic situation that they were there and able to help us so well in an incredible time frame. Sedation and sutures were needed after a bite and this was all done really well and the doctor gave us general medical advice even more than what our primary vet has talked about at our initial appointment! Nothing was rushed but at the same time everything was expeditious. I’ve read the not great reviews here and I wonder if it’s because there are situations where maybe it’s not the primary purpose of this group. In an emergency situation is the only place I can gauge and this was tremendous. For instance after we needed to have a surgical consultation for unrelated needs, I did decide not to come here but I don’t feel like that’s a detriment to what they provide. It just seems like maybe not their primary focus. So you go to different places when you need different things. I hope this is a balanced review that helps. Glad we came despite the mixed reviews.

I personally do not recommend this place. I get everyone has a different opinion but this place made me feel nothing but money mattered to them. I’m giving them 2 stars only due to the fact that everyone I talked to was respectful. My 6 month old frenchie was taken to her vet for x-rays due to a limp in her back leg. Her personal vet could not find anything and sent the test results off for a second opinion. The lab recommended either an ultra sound or potentially an MRI. I originally called the vet hospital in Sorento valley to try to schedule an appointment but they were booked out till December. I then decided to give this hospital a shot even though the reviews scared me. Everything started out great, their receptionist was super friendly and took down all my information quick. I was told once they received my dogs x-rays and had a specialist look over them they would call me back….. This is where things get rough, I receive a call back and they tell me they could get me in with an appointment the next day which was great to hear, however I was then explained that they would like to do another x-ray because there surgeons could get her in ā€œspecific positionsā€ to be able to find something (mind you all things her vet had already done), and that that would cost me around $1000. Knowing an x-ray was done 6 hours prior to our conversation as well as been sent in for a second opinion by another lab (which had already cost me $1400). Basically they were trying to tell me I needed a third opinion for there to still be chances of needing an ultra sound or an MRI . I immediately turned it down and chose to take her somewhere else. This morning I took her into the emergency room of a different vet hospital, within 20 mins my dog was taken in to be examined and there surgeon was able to diagnose my dog with all the information provided to them from my dogs vet, charge me a normal emergency appointment fee, and had my puppy and I on our way with a treatment plan and solution. Moral of the story is, all this placed showed me was they’re willing to be as nice as they can, to try to get you to spend as much money as you can. Trust the reviews!
