- ANAmber NApr 1, 20263.0Remember when you bought a new phone at Best Buy & they'd connect a cable from the old to the new and pretty quickly your data would transfer? They dont do that now w/o an appt. @ Geek Squad, who are the nicest, most helpful people. Anyone could have easily loaned me a connection cable or mentioned the one i needed was in the box. I stead, they let me hang out in store, attempting to do it myself with little instruction for OVER TWO HOURS. Absurd. What happened to folks who helped? I didn't even want to shop here because of the lack of help I'd get but my phone screen wasn't going to last so in my town, Best Buy is literally the only option. I made an appt with Geek Squad and we figured the transfer would be quick enough done via Bluetooth so I could vacate my appt. Over 2 hours later of waiting and trying to get the transfer done on my own, my appt time came and I was finally able to get some help. The level of service here is wildly lacking compared to what it used to be. Im older so I remember the level of service and can very much see the difference. There were people available at the phone counter who absolutely could have helped but didn't. Im disappointed at such a stark difference from what used to be a vibrant helpful store to what it is now. Im old enough to remember Circuit City in its hey day and I also remember its fall into desolation. Best Buy will always exist if only online but I can see the store ambiance dying
