- LPLance PorteousDec 13, 20251.0Disappointed with geek squad at Pleasant Hill Best Buy. I went in wanting to have a charge port replaced on a iPhone. $21 item on eBay for a OEM original part made by Apple. Geek Squad tries to tell me changing that part requires replacing the logic board: a $655 component plus service fee. I was told by geek squad tech that the two are soldered together and therefore have to be replaced together. This is a LIE! Service tech videos and parts and parts diagrams shows the charge port is connected to logic board via a simple ribbon style plug. Not hard soldered together. This geek squad tech tried to lie to my face to up charge from a $21 time to a $655 item. I complained to management who listened nicely to my complaint, and acknowledged he felt I was being told something incorrect. But buyer beware, the geek squad service techs here are fraudulently telling lies to trick customers into up charges. Shame. Go somewhere else for your service.

The staff at the location has minimal knowledge so they take in majority of items in to be shipped which takes weeks to get back. Overall very unimpressed and I wish best buy would level up the customer experience.

Luis exhibited clarity in communication, conciseness in his explanations, and displayed commendable professionalism throughout our interaction. I have already scheduled a repair appointment and am confident that I have identified my preferred establishment for electronics needs. I extend my gratitude to Luis for his kindness and assistance.
