PLEASE STOP TELLING CUSTOMERS THAT THEY CAN DROP THEIR PHONE OFF FOR REPAIR WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT!!!!
I’m about to become an Android user! I purchased my iPhone 16 Pro Max through AT&T and pay for an extended warranty. Both my front (Face ID) and back cameras are not working correctly so went to my local AT&T store who told me that it is still under the one year Apple warranty so I needed to go to the Apple Store. Closest one is more than an hour away.
Went to Apple, checked in and two hours later they confirmed both cameras are bad but they do not have either one in stock even though this store is huge with tons of techs? My only option is a loaner with limited access to my data, and either leave it and pick it up later or have it mailed to me and then come back to drop the loaner off. Neither of which I can do because I use my phone for work. Third option, wait 3 to 5 days for the parts to come in and bring my phone back. The good news was that I did not have to have an appointment, I just had to come in, drop it off, wait about two hours then pick it up. I chose that option.
I only have one day off a week, Sunday. I received a call on Friday that my parts were in and that I did not need an appointment. I just needed to drop it off, they would repair, and I could pick it up same day. The store closes at 4 PM on Sunday so I made sure to come at 1 PM to give them the allotted two hours they told me was needed to fix it.
I just drove more than an hour to the store and checked in only to be told the queue for dropping off items without an appointment was full, and my phone cannot be fixed today. If even one person along the way had told me that, I would’ve gladly made an appointment, but it was sadly never disclosed that if I didn’t get here in time they would run out of spots for drop off. Hmmm kind of sounds like I NEED AN APPOINTMENT. The only thing I heard repeatedly was how easy it was going to be for me to drop my phone off and pick it up after repair so there would be little inconvenience and that I did not need an appointment.
You have no idea how inconvenient it is for the Face ID to be in operable on your phone until it actually happens. Thanks to the misinformation given to me by employees in this store. I will now have to wait another week to get mine restored and drive another hour here and back and find a way to waste two hours in between in order to get my under warranty phone repaired. I am no longer an Apple fan. You sold me a substandard product that failed in under a year and have now given substandard service for its repair.

Had a problem with my old iPhone 13(it essentially stopped working completely due to a battery issue), I took it in for an appointment and left my phone with them overnight. I picked it up at 11am the next day, they completely fixed my issue.. along with fixing multiple other issues I didn’t even mention. Practically walked out with a new phone! All at 0 cost to me, due to having apple care. I’m very pleased, thank you to the one’s who helped me =)

Met a tour guide who informed me of the classic car show down el paseo the first Friday of the month at about 4:00pm. I’m an enthusiastic classic car person. I enjoyed sipping on a Starbucks and listening to the music of the car engines.
