A week ago I brought my cat in because she had been attacked by a dog. I asked them to give her pain medication because I knew she was in pain. Obviously, a dog attacked her. They refused to give her medication. They said she seemed to be tolerating the pain well when they had known her for all of 5 minutes. My cat hardly ever meows or is vocal in anyway & she was meowing up a storm at the vet. After the x-ray, they gave her pain killers because she has an abdominal hernia, and broken ribs. The hernia was no surprise as her stomach grew 3x the normal size. Still they wouldn’t listen and didn’t give her pain medication until about close to two hours later after the X-rays. To think my poor baby suffered unnecessary because they would not listen to me is sickening. Then, they referred me an hour out to murrieta for emergency surgery. I called around and a surgeon was available in Glendora. I immediately took her there. By the time I got my girl her surgery her spleen was necrotic it had to be taken out. The surgeon said that we got her there in time as her kidney was also herniated but not necrotic at the time of surgery.
I’m glad I didn’t drive a whole hour out to where they referred me as the extra time we took to get there could have made the injury fatal. I will be filing a complaint with the CA veterinary medical board. Take your loved ones elsewhere!

The staff at the front desk is at best "nice" but your dog won't be seen unless they are on the brink of death.

I had a terrible experience at VCA Ontario. My dog was seen for bloody stool and weight loss, and they immediately pushed for expensive testing. I was charged $1,800 for an ultrasound and was told he had “inflammation,” then the vet insisted I needed a $3,500 biopsy or my dog could pass away in 6 weeks. The veterinarian, Dr. Peterson, was rude, dismissive, and seemed far more focused on money than helping my pet.
I went to another clinic that treated us with kindness and actually explained what was going on. They provided affordable care, and now, 8 weeks later, my dog has gained all his weight back and is healthy and energetic.
To Dr. Peterson: if compassion isn’t apart of your practice, perhaps it’s time to reconsider your career.
VCA Ontario: Save your copy and paste ChatGPT response. It was obvious from my visit that you do not care about any of the pets that visit this location during crisis situations.

The staff was amazing .. kind, attentive, and thorough. All of my questions were answered, and the feedback I received was clearly explained. I truly appreciate the compassion and professionalism shown during such a difficult time.
However, my only concern is that the office does not offer in-house payment plans for pet owners. Unfortunately, not everyone has perfect credit to qualify for CareCredit, or credit cards with high enough limits to cover large veterinary expenses. In today’s world, many families simply can’t afford pet insurance or have the financial flexibility to pay thousands of dollars upfront when an emergency occurs.
It’s heartbreaking, but it’s reality pet hospitals and veterinary clinics need more flexible payment options to help pet parents during times of need. Programs that require applications or approvals are helpful, but in emergencies, time is critical.
As a devoted pet mom, I would have done anything to give my dog the chance to live a long, healthy life. Sadly, due to financial limitations and the uncertain outcome of surgery, I had to make the painful decision to let him go at just 2 years and 9 months old.
I miss my dog deeply & life just isn’t the same without him.
