I had one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever encountered at this Best Buy location.
I went to Geek Squad because my laptop is experiencing the exact same issue for the third time. Instead of helping me, the Geek Squad employees began laughing and speaking negatively about me in Punjabi, assuming I wouldn’t understand. I’m Indian, and I understood everything they were saying. What made the experience even more disappointing was that the store manager, Simran, was present and appeared to entertain the behavior instead of addressing it professionally.
For context, my laptop was repaired in April 2026 for the same “glitch crack” issue. My understanding of the policy is that repairs are covered by a 90-day workmanship guarantee if the same issue reoccurs. When I raised this with Simran, I was told that the 90-day policy did not apply. Because I was concerned about receiving incorrect information, I contacted Best Buy Customer Care directly, and they confirmed that the 90-day policy does apply to the same issue.
What should have been a straightforward warranty discussion turned into an uncomfortable and disrespectful experience. No customer should be laughed at or spoken about in another language under the assumption that they won’t understand.
As someone living in Ontario, it’s especially disheartening to experience this kind of disrespect from people who share the same cultural background. Every customer deserves to be treated with professionalism and respect, regardless of the outcome of their warranty claim.
I have already submitted a formal complaint regarding this incident. Based on how I was treated, I do not feel comfortable returning to this location and have no intention of shopping there again.
Had an overall wonderful experience with Best Buy here!
I bought an MSI Laptop that was on sale for $1000 off, which was a better deal than any other sellers were offering. The staff member Shahzeb, (I think he goes by Shah) walked me through the entire process, was able to direct me to a fitting bag for my new laptop, and gave me some really good deals on everything I bought that day. Major shoutout to him and the other staff, as all of them were honest, practical, and friendly. I left that day with some good warranties and services on my laptop, including a data transfer that the geek squad staff did for me which was a huge plus. Initially, the data transfer was quoted to take up to three days due to customer volume, but I told them I needed my laptop for work, so they said they would try, and they were able to get the transfer done in less than 24hrs!
Now unfortunately, I did have a problem with the first laptop I got, however this was not at all the fault of the staff or best buy, sometimes a faulty product gets sent in by the supplier and will go unnoticed until the box is opened. I had it in my possession for 2 days when I noticed the first laptop had an issue where it was running games at 5fps or less, which is a major issue for a new gaming laptop. I took it into Best Buy and explained the issue, the staff tested it, and tried to fix the issue. They were unable to, and instead exchanged it immediately for a new one of the same model, and transferred all of my previous laptop's data over to the new one again for me.
This process happened over the span of about a week of me going back and fourth to best buy (as data transfers require at least a day) and Shah even checked in when he saw me return to the PC department to see how I was liking the device, empathizing with the issue I was having and hoping a solution would be worked out. Truly great customer service.
I now sit at home with the new device, running one of my favorite game series at its highest graphics settings, and I'm having a fantastic time, thanks to Best Buy and their awesome staff!
The home theater manager along with the sales associates, are all remarkably awesome team. Then the Geek squad who delivered a Hisense 55 inch TV to my place did a fantastic job and those 3 guys were super experienced and knowledgeable. I truly recommend the Heartland - Mavis Road BEST BUY store. It's magical in this location!
believe this location needs better management because some of the employees are very unprofessional. It seems like some of them don't want to provide customer service. Instead, they spend time using their phones or avoiding customers. It often feels like they ignore customers because they don't like answering questions about products.
Yesterday, I visited the store to buy an item, but before purchasing it, I wanted to make sure it was the right product for me. At this location, important thing ,customers often have to look for employees themselves. Every time I approached an employee, they would walk away to another area. Sometimes you have to walk around the entire store or even knock on the warehouse door just to find someone to help you.
After speaking with a few employees, they disappeared. Later, I saw another employee and told him I was ready to purchase the item. I waved my hand, and he said he was coming, but after waiting about 10 minutes, he never showed up. I looked toward the storage room and couldn't find him anywhere.
Finally, another employee came to help me. His name was Joseph. He was extremely kind, humble, and professional. Even though he looked very tired, he assisted me from start to finish, including the payment process. Employees like Joseph are exactly the kind of hardworking people Canada needs. He deserves recognition for his excellent customer service.
Unfortunately, some of the other employees acted as though helping customers was a burden. If someone doesn't enjoy serving customers, perhaps retail is not the right job for them. Many hardworking people are looking for employment and would appreciate the opportunity to work at Best Buy. Some employees seem to act as if they are too important to help customers, which is disappointing.
I also noticed an employee eating while working at the customer service/payment counter. I found this to be very unprofessional.
I hope management takes these concerns seriously and provides better supervision and customer service training. Customers spend their hard-earned money at this store—we are paying for the products and deserve respectful, professional service.
Thanks

Been coming to this store for awhile. One of the most organized and well run stores in GTA. Inventory always seem to be accurate when it comes to curbside picking or online shopping from the store. I recently bought Dyson vacuum from the store and Prima helped me a ton specially with product details and specs and its performance compare to other models I wasn’t planning to upgrade my phone plan but ended up doing it anyways since she gave me a great deal and plan with Rogers. Thanks a ton Prima.
