Great store, lots of selection. Amazing staff, they are so friendly and very knowledgeable. They treat me with respect and take the time to explain things to me ensuring I get what I want and what I need.

Good selection of electronics. I was in there 20 minutes and there was only one customer while I was there. Not one staff person asked if they could help me with anything. I was ignored the whole time I was there. You definitely lost a sale today.

I recently moved to Cornwall from the Greater Toronto Area where I lived for more than half my life. One thing I have genuinely appreciated about Cornwall is how warm and friendly people are. Unfortunately, my experience with Best Buy Cornwall was also one of the most dysfunctional customer-service experiences I have ever had. I paid ~ $12,000 altogether for an 85" OLED home-theatre setup, installation, and a Best Buy subscription that was previously called the Geek Squad Membership. It took two DOA (broken) brand-new TVs of different brands and three months before I finally had a properly working setup. There were repeated failures throughout the process. The Geek Squad field supervisor did not tell me that I would need additional speaker wire, which meant there was not enough cable at the back of my 7.1 system. The system was also supposed to become 7.1.2 based on what we discussed over the phone. On another appointment, Geek Squad sent two people for what was clearly a three-person job. They arrived, could not perform the installation, and had to leave. That wasted everyone's time, including mine. I ended up going back to the store five times trying to resolve the situation. By that point, I was financially locked into continuing with Best Buy because of the subscription and installation arrangements, so simply returning everything and walking away no longer made financial sense. Things finally resolved only after I publicly commented about the situation on Facebook and tagged Best Buy Canada. For three months, I was also calling customer service every single day as I had to personally manage and coordinate Best Buy's own departments just to get the work completed, that I had paid full money for. One interaction was particularly unacceptable. A Geek Squad phone customer-service supervisor named RAFAEL told me that he would hang up on me... and then he did. I was not yelling, threatening, or behaving aggressively. I was simply trying to get a 3 months-long problem resolved after I had paid full money, wasted days of having the field team just mess up and paid multiple visits to the store. That is an absolutely scandalous customer-service standard from a large established corporation. Rafael is terrible at his job from my experience with him. I have a recording of this call for reference. The day I finally received a working television, that time I decided I had to go out to the delivery truck because, after everything that had happened, I wanted to see how the TVs were being transported. The chances of bad luck were like winning the lottery. The OLED television was lying on its side even though the box itself has a clear pictorial diagram indicating that the television should be transported upright, in the same orientation in which it would normally sit on a stand or wall. I have video evidence of this. When I questioned it, the driver told me that they needed to make space in the truck so they could deliver people's appliances. Of course they need to make space — but customers are paying thousands of dollars for expensive electronics. The products should be transported according to the manufacturer's handling instructions so customers receive WORKING equipment. What makes this experience especially frustrating is that many of the individual employees I met were genuinely nice people. Carla, for example, was very kind and helpful. But friendliness does not compensate for repeated failures in planning, communication, coordination, delivery, installation, and customer service. Best Buy was very quick to accept $$ from me. Yet, it was extraordinarily slow, ineffective and disorganized when it came time to actually deliver the complete working system I had paid for. This entire experience was exhausting and completely unacceptable. I will never again purchase a major appliance, television, or similar item there. Edit: I spoke with the Complaints department, CSR Jackie. and Geek Squad supervisor Kadie. Both super nice and helpful. I hope Rafael gets at least coaching if not outright replacement.
