I had a problem with my LG refrigerator not dispensing ice or water, I thought having best buy, or geek squad because I thought they awere professionals/experts on home electronics and because I bought the refrigerator from them. Two guys arrived to diagnose the problem, they asked what the problem was, I said no ice and water is dispensed, one of the guys asked for a cup to try it as I had said.. no ice no water, they asked for a step stool to remove the cover from the top of the refrigerator where the main board is. They said, it could be the micro switch, but to get to the switch we have to remove the front display and most likely it will break, I asked, if you break it, do I have to pay for it? He said yes. I asked what a bout if the problem is not the switch, he said then we have to change the main board. ($400) but you don't have to pay for the switch ($10), he said they would re-install the old switch. I asked, what about if it is not the main board? he said: we will have to replace the door.. ($1000), plus 250 dollars for labor. This diagnose and explanation only took 5 minutes. I felt I was ripped with 125 dollars right away for an unreal diagnose/troubleshooting visit... plus I provided them a step stool too... I will never hire this company ever again.
