  Geek squad lost my charger and gave me a cheaper adapter and acted like they never seen my oem laptop charger. The workers probably dont work there anymore. But poor experience.

  So I had to visit the Merced, CA store. To make an exchange with my partner and was pleasantly surprised. Since moving to the Central Valley from Hollywood I find myself comparing the stores that I had been a loyal customer to for the last 30+ years. And I was thankful when stepping into the store after being somewhat culture shocked after the move. I honestly thought this is cool. Obviously not the square footage of a big city store like some in the LA area or Sherman Oaks, Burbank, Atwater village etc. locations, but for the nice layout, helpful staff clean restrooms and nice parking lot. Wasn't ridiculously crowded. And honestly got the help we needed in good time. Would've or could've been in and out but I'm one of people that is somewhat of a electronics nerd. And I just HAVE to hit every aisle exploring the newest gadgets. Explaining to whomever is brave enough to enter a store like this with me why this is cooler than that or how excited I am about a new product. So yeah 5 stars

  This store rarely has anything iPhone cases or laptop, computers basically technology, except for TVs. They have many of those but functional devices for daily life and work they lack. They lack computer cases and a lot more things. Staff is not so great especially the technicians that are supposed to be helping you. I’ve had a return a few things because I’m sold a product and I come home and it’s completely opposite of what they told me OR IT’S DEFECTIVE, and then I return it and then they give me side eye because I’m returning something. I’m going to continue my business at a different Best Buy out of Merced because this store doesn’t even make me feel like I even wanna go back.

  I left a 1 cuz there’s no option for 0!!! They scheduled me a home repair for my tv. They came and had to order a part. It came in and they scheduled a repair visit and never showed up. Then they rescheduled for today and I told them I would be in the Bay Area for my birthday so if I’m going to cut my trip short they NEED to be here. They weren’t! I been on hold for hours now trying to find out what’s going on. First they transfer me to billing who takes all my information before she tells me she’s only billing department. Then they transfer me to Geek Squad who never answers. I had my wife who was in the area walk in there to see how busy they are and not one single geek squad agent was helping a customer or on the phone. I left my birthday trip early for this BS. I called to speak to a manager and they hung on on me. I was not yelling or spoke angrily at all. My next call is to their corporate office then an attorney for the inconvenience of leaving my trip early! I DO NOT Recommend Best Buy in Merced at all! They refuse to honor their warranties so don’t buy one.Their 70” Insignia TVs are defective!
