I waited on the virtual waitlist for almost an hour and a half. When it was almost finally my turn, the estimated time showed 21 minutes, but two minutes later it jumped back to 47 minutes, even though the visit room appeared empty. At that point, I decided to leave. This was very disappointing. My dog needed emergency. What a waste of time.

Truly lucky to have this place close by. I love the doctors I have encountered here so much. All staff have been kind and friendly. The place itself is clean and welcoming and my animals feel very at ease when we do need to come in. They have saved us the last few times. I have two pure-bred Maine Coons and they are a lot of work!

Very disappointed to leave this feedback. I brought my puppy in last week as she was not wanting to put weight on her paw, in so much pain that she was not eating and lethargic. They take the dog back for the exam so I was not present.
Then the vet comes to talk to us. She said she didn’t see anything and it was likely either a sprain or break. They asked about doing very expensive X-rays or we could do pain meds to see if it improved in a few days. X-rays required sedation.
I pointed out a yellow mark on the bottom of her paw pad and said that wasn’t there before that I had ever seen. The vet said that was nothing, she inspected it and it wasn’t of concern.
I opted for trying the pain meds before having to sedate my puppy for X-rays.
She developed a red, bleeding, weeping abscess on top of her paw the next day. I took her to an ER where before I even showed the same yellow mark on the base of her paw pad, the doctor asked me about it and seemed concerned. They sedated her and showed me that yellow mark on the paw was actually a VERY DEEP puncture wound, about 3/4 inch deep! They believe it caused infection which then caused the abscess
I’m frustrated this was missed by the doctors at VCA Urgent Care, even after I pointed it out as something new. It allowed the infection to become much worse.
Also, VCA sent me home with a $10 cone, it was too short and my dog immediately could still reach her paw to lick. I had to go buy a larger cone at another vet that night, $20!
Lastly, when I called ahead I spoke to a woman who asked if I wanted to join the virtual waiting list and I said yes please while I drive. She said great, it’s about 30 mins wait, see you soon! I arrive and reception says I don’t see you on the list. She then hands me a postcard about their location. Okay, cool? Then she comes back 5 mins later and is like well did you join the waiting room yet? I said- like I said, I did on the phone 30 mins ago. She said no you should have joined once you got here. I said I checked in with you and she said no you didn’t join it. What? Turns out there’s a QR code on the postcard I was supposed to use, but no one told me. Later the woman I spoke to on the phone apologized and said I thought you’d been here before so you knew how to join the waiting room. All this to say— the admin staff could definitely do a better job explaining what patients need to do!!!
Anyways. Very thankful for VEG Emergency Vet. Wish I wouldn’t have had to go there if this had been correctly diagnosed at this facility.

I’ve had to bring my dogs here a few times and I am always so impressed by their compassionate care. They don’t make you feel like you are at a large corporate vet, they listen and have empathy. I truly love VCA!

Came here today, 2026-01-13, and had a really positive experience. My Chihuahua had a broken nail, and the staff here were incredibly friendly and professional. Zero wait on a weekday afternoon.
Selene (or Selena?) was very helpful as well as the woman shadowing her. The doctor gave us the examination information and care instructions with exceptional support.
I really appreciated their treatment all throughout. Thanks to the team!
