As a Verizon Customer for over 25 years, I experienced the worst customer service ever. I was instructed to go to this corporate store via Verizon Customer Service to return a phone.
I walked in, not a customer in there employees sitting around, one on the phone. No one stood up to greet me, Zack, looked up from his phone/computer and just looked at me. I said I am here to return this phone. He still did not stand up and instructed me to fill out a envelope. I asked him, as he is still sitting and not hiding his contempt for me needing anything. I asked him, Do I need a label? He finally got up and barely looked at me and said, I'll get you one. I said "Thank YOU" He leaves and then comes out from the back office, strolling with aggravation he has to deal with me. Walks over to what I believe is another sales rep, very brief conversation between them and says to me, I cant help you. Asking me if its insurance warranty or what? I asked him to look at my account please, he said basically "no" he cannot help me.
I tell him he is being rude, I was instructed to come here by customer service, which his response, "They are outsourced and don't know anything" which leaves me thinking I cant trust Verizon Customer Service! I ask for his manager " he looks at me and says " He is right there" and points. So the Manager, Ramone, who has witnessed the interaction and never stepped in, approached me, irritated and reiterated " He cant help me".
I understand now, they don't assist in returns, but there disdain for having to get up and deal with, as I was not a SALE for them is unacceptable.
They tried to make me feel stupid.
What happened to customer service?
Ramone and Zack were not at all concerned about their impact on Verizon's reputation or me.
