Twice I was sent out of this store and had to contact Customer Service by phone while sitting in my hot car in over 100 degree heat because of lack of follow-through on orders that were pre-authorized and paid for hours before. I had to go back and forth with employees here who profile instead of using their brains or any skills. The Assistant Manager could have easily worked this out in a timely manner, but did not bother. He simply was not proactive. They just act like they don't know what they're doing, or they don't care.

This is the designated, corporate Verizon Store in the Coachella Valley and a one-star rating is too generous for it. This bricks-and-mortar is staffed with what I call, "No, can't do that" people, whose goal is to sell products, but wouldn’t know baseline customer service if they sat on it, let alone “good” customer service. And it starts from the top: the management! Poorly trained individuals in customer care who ramble off information that unquestionably contradicts internet and call support center interface, but spew their own retail-proclaimed policies that they themselves supervise. Management are non problem-solvers. You have to ASK (a-s-k) them to escalate, after it is obvious they can’t provide a resolution to an issue. Meanwhile, they have no problem wasting your time as a consumer as if your time is not valuable, having security circle you like an eagle, then sending you out of a store without your paid-for product. And it gets better! While dealing with management, other employees sit by RUNNING INTERFERENCE LIKE MIDDLE SCHOOLERS as if they’re sitting in their mama’s living room. One literally walked up right in the middle of our conversation, not to assist towards resolution, but as if it were a bully pulpit. Two words: grow up! And put down your devices (in people’s faces) and interact professionally with consumers who pay your salary. You’re working for one of the leading telecommunications companies in the world. The Verizon brand deserves better. FYI, this is what good customer service looks like and it's not rocket science. Here ya go: "Thank you for being a valued customer for years, and we apologize, ma'am (Mrs. so-and-so), that you had to come into the store, drive all that way, under less-than-admirable conditions. We see that you and your family members are documented on your account, and we understand you have been given information directly from our telecom Customer Support team at corporate previously that has been documented in our records. As a result, we apologize for any technical or customer care misunderstandings on our part as a corporation. As management, we will countermand the issue by concluding your order today as a courtesy in good faith due to your history and based on what you were told. We want to uphold the relationship you’ve maintained with us for years and regret any delay caused to your family member(s). We hope you continue to be a valued consumer of our brand. Thank you for your years of commitment.” BAM! It's as simple as that. So, just avoid this store altogether. Work with Verizon Customer Support over the phone or another retailer. Or drive to Los Angeles or Orange County and make a day of it.
